00:12Welcome to Swale. Let's try some food.
00:23Swale was a project that was started in 2016 last year by an artist named Mary Mattingly.
00:30The project aims to bring an edible landscape to New York City residents.
00:39We dock it two months at a time. We welcome the public on board to pick and forage
00:45edible and medicinal.
00:58Swale does an amazing job of bringing nature into the city and teaching people about plants,
01:04teaching people about what they can eat, what they can grow themselves.
01:15We're growing lots of plants here, mostly perennials, but in some cases we grow annual plants as well.
01:23So plants like radishes that you may find in your grocery store.
01:49R thumpets
01:50We're growing lots of people with things like that.
