00:28Today, we're reenacting a famous, iconic picture of Farrah
00:32Fawcett on a skateboard.
00:33Farrah had a lot of looks.
00:35This was the 70s, and she was part of one of the most fashionable
00:38television shows that are still remembered till today.
00:42I'm just meeting Olivia for the first time today.
00:44She is 2012's Miss USA and also Miss Universe.
00:52I'm going to start with just kind of adding some shimmer to your skin,
00:55because that's the idea.
00:56We want that kind of glowing, dewy.

01:00The makeup trends in the 70s were very, very particular.
01:03What we're doing today is kind of what I want to call like daytime disco.
01:07Makeup was reflective.
01:08It was all sort of shiny.
01:09The idea of dewy skin and cream blushes,
01:13and just the smears of like highlight across the lid.
01:19I'm just going to go in the areas that I want to highlight right at the top of the cheekbones.
01:24The highlighting around the eyes was very entrant.

01:31What was it like to be in pageants?
01:32I never did them growing up.
01:35I did my first pageant when I was 18, and then I won Miss Universe when I was 20.
01:41I have always been interested in beauty and makeup.
01:45My favorite part of the 70s was probably the effortless look of the style.
01:50Today, with all of the contouring and the fake eyelashes, you don't really see such a soft look.
01:57Now I'm applying just a touch of like this really faded pastel blue just onto the lid.
02:04That was a huge, huge trend in the 70s.
02:09Alright, I'm taking just a little bit of liquid foundation.
02:11I'm going to brush it over your brow so it fades them out a little bit.
02:15But we're going to kind of make it easier for you to wear a blonde wig without it being so
02:20prominent.
02:22Let's add a little bit of warm tones to you.
02:25Let me have that bronzy California tan.
02:31And we're just going to do a little bit of a nude color.
02:34It's not really an overly drawn lip.
02:37Alright, just a little bit of kind of a bubblegum pink.
02:40Girls did not leave the house without gloss in their back pocket and the mascara.
02:44I'm just going to put a little bit of mascara through your lashes, kind of separate them.
02:49It was very normal for women to apply their mascara and then take a needle and separate it with like
02:55a safety pin.
02:56Oh yeah, I've been there.

03:07She had big hair and I think a lot of that was because of the flip and because of the
03:11short layers.
03:11Now just kind of take a brush and start feathering it back.
03:15You've got to make them look like you've got wings on your head, you know?
