00:05What I want to do is I do want to add a little bit of moisture
00:07into your hair.
00:08So I'm just going to use a serum.
00:10And any girl with curl will tell you,
00:13don't touch if you don't have to.
00:15So I'm going to section off the hair
00:18that we're going to leave alone for our faux hawk.
00:25I thought it would be really cool to use silver bobby pins
00:28on the dark hair because we're not at all trying to hide these.
00:32We actually want to use them as hair accessories.
00:36It really doesn't take too long to give yourself
00:38a really quick little do.
00:40It's similar to a hairstyle that I did for Nicole Richie.
00:44Yeah.
00:45I really like keeping her texture as natural as possible.
00:49So what we did is we took all of her curls
00:52and just twisted them back.
00:54Ooh.
00:54And we twisted them back into like a little knot chignon thing.
00:59But I love your hair in the back.
01:01So we're going to leave it.
01:02Curls always need moisture.
01:06Your hair would love like a cream serum.
01:09Ooh.
01:10Because it's going to give you moisture and shine at the same time.
01:13The twists are much, much quicker and much easier to do on yourself
01:16than braids even.
01:17With each twist, I'm going to secure it with two bobby pins
01:23placed in X's.
01:25That way, it'll give you a real good grip throughout the day
01:28and won't slip out.
01:29And again, we're going silver on purpose to show them off
01:33in the dark hair.
01:38I mean, again, we could have done this with dark bobby pins,
01:40but this is just something for the eye to see.
01:42So now, with all of this amazing texture you have,
01:46just to give it a little bit of uniformity,
01:48I'm going to touch up a few of your curls.
01:50Cool.
01:51And I don't know if you've ever seen a square iron.
01:55The square iron, when you think about a curl,
01:58it's actually not a corkscrew.
01:59It's actually more of a zigzag.
02:00And this is what this iron does.
02:02OK.
02:02This iron, it really is, I mean,
02:04I've used it on so many photo shoots
02:06because it just gives the hair such a look of real curl.
02:10And curls are such a trend, believe it or not.
02:13So we're creating them now all the time.
02:16We're going to finish with a little bit of hairspray.
02:26And voila, you're done.
02:29I love it.
02:30The silver pins give it kind of more of an edge.
