Sprinkle 1 tsp of sugar over chopped and hulled strawberries. Place cake on a plate. Top with half the macerated strawberries and a generous helping of vanilla ice cream. Top with remaining strawberries and a whipped cream, if desired. Scoop, sprinkle, and dump all ingredients into your favorite bowl. Mix together with your spoon or eat as is. Place the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a double-boiler, or make your own by placing a smaller sauce pan or tempered mixing bowl over a larger sauce pan with 2-3 inches of water at the bottom. Turn the heat to medium, stirring occasionally. Once the sauce is completely liquid, drizzle desired amount over ice cream and top with M&Ms. To make it harden faster, place in the freezer for a few minutes. Leftover sauce can be stored in an air-tight container at room temperature, though it will harden in cooler kitchens. I store it in the fridge and re-melt it as needed.
