00:00Lina, hello!
00:01Hi! You're live with Refinery29.
00:04What's up? I love Refinery29.
00:05Refinery29 loves you right back.
00:07Early supporters.
00:08Early supporters.
00:09I love it.
00:10You're a new supporter.
00:10Yeah. Hi, guys.
00:12Hi. Well, welcome. Thank you so much for joining us.
00:14Of course.
00:15So what lesson do you think you've learned the most from being on and involved with Master of None?
00:20Oh, my God. To tell the truth.
00:22To always be honest.
00:24To, you know, be inspired before you tell the story.
00:27That's what I feel like our motto is on the show.
00:30We always want to be super honest what will really happen, and we want to be truthful.
00:35Well, congratulations on your nomination tonight for comedy writing for Master of None.
00:39Now, tell us a little bit, what is, like, the big takeaway that you want viewers who watch it to
00:44take away from that?
00:45Oh, my God. That is doable.
00:48You know, if you're a woman, if you're a woman of color, if you're having to be queer, that you
00:51can shine,
00:52and that you should embrace who you are, and that sometimes can really be a breakthrough.
00:57Because, I mean, that to me is what this whole journey has been about.
01:00The fact that people have responded so wonderfully to the episode and the season has been phenomenal.
01:06I love it. So you write comedy, you act in comedy. What makes you laugh?
01:10Oh, my gosh. Leslie Jones makes me laugh.
01:14Yes.
01:15Broad City makes me laugh.
01:19Atlanta really makes me laugh.
01:21Yes.
01:21You know, just smart, random things make me laugh.
01:25Now, you and Aziz have such a funny relationship on the show.
01:28How does that, you know, I feel like it seems like you guys are close outside the show.
01:32Does that kind of intermix the two on air and off air?
01:35We're pretty cool.
01:35He called me this morning to tell me if we win, not to forget to thank Netflix.
01:41He's my guy. You know, he's so chill and laid back.
01:44And I think because I'm a little high, strong, and silly, it's a nice, like, you know, we compliment each
01:48other well.
01:50I love that. Well, Lena, thank you for stopping by, and good luck tonight.
01:53Thank you so much.
01:53Congratulations again.
01:55Thank you so much.
01:56Thank you, guys. Have a good night.
01:57Thank you. Good luck.
01:58Bye.
01:59Bye.
01:59Bye.
