China is showcasing its film, television and animation industry at MIP Africa 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa, with the China Pavilion making its debut at the major audiovisual industry event. Featuring 16 leading Chinese media and production organizations, the pavilion is presenting more than 50 titles, including television dramas, documentaries, variety shows and animation, alongside innovations in audiovisual technology.

The showcase aims to strengthen cultural exchange and expand business partnerships between Chinese and African media industries. Organized under the theme "Africa. Untold. Unstoppable," MIP Africa 2026 has attracted more than 100 international media companies and over 1,500 participants, with strong representation from South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria and Ghana. Organizers say the event provides a platform to connect African stories and creative talent with the global entertainment industry.
