00:15feeling what is happening it was not how we imagined it but exactly how it was
00:20supposed to be we created a Cuban Nigerian Afro-American German ceremony
00:27where we sent all the love we could give in the purest most intense way we could

00:53I never thought I was going to be the girl that gets married was like oh and I
00:57want to wear white none of that but I also have cancer stage four lung cancer
01:02that I'm currently fighting
01:11we are a tinder couple just on the look for a summer fling and we stay together
01:17ever since the first thing I would say is she's very strong positive tolerance
01:22self-acceptance Wow oh my god we kept on saying it every year we're going to do a
01:32big wedding so we might as well just do it now because we have cancer I have cancer
01:39and we just don't know how long it is I also lost my hair off the radiation my
01:44whole system collapsed and I fell from the moment that I was diagnosed I have been
01:51dealing with this thing differently and she said I'm on a half pet wedding I was
01:58thinking wow it's too much but on the other hand it's her day her wish so we're
02:05poor she had so many treatments to go through and I didn't really know if she'd
02:11have the strength I was worried I said okay you basically learn to appreciate every moment and
02:19every opportunity to they say children choose their parents and I have to be thankful but you choose me
02:29because she really is a gift she told me that this wedding is about reminding
02:37everyone that we're alive right now and that we have to make every moment count
02:43and to be happy to be alive and I think that that's what she wanted all her friends to feel
02:54basically we planned this two months before it happened I just set up the whole theme living your
03:01life is golden is just wonderful because you just choose for yourself the best of the best there's a
03:08difference of like telling people what to do or inviting them to a new idea
03:20the Bride Maids we were thinking give us like a fun soul train line from the 90s
03:28when everybody's on the side and the disco people are coming out so we basically created that
03:47so I was thinking no I asked them if they would like to share vows or not but then as
03:51I was
03:51thinking about this no need for these promises already proven to one another yeah I think everybody
03:57agree you agree no that's being said
04:06by the power vested in me you are now officially made
04:23throughout the whole day there was always something happening
04:30people started to contribute with different performances that they all somehow set up it felt
04:37that that day that we could have created a new universe at some point there was a little
04:44foguing party people just strutted down the runways I have Afro-Cuban roots I have a wonderful
04:52husband who is Israeli our whole circle of friends is so diverse they just all bring their cultures to the
05:00table
05:09the thing that got me by surprise the most was that healing circle that we did
05:17each take your time come in and you go it's our chance to really say whatever we're gonna say
05:26your eyes are closed and you hear all these affirmations I love you and I want you to heal
05:32and stay strong it's so tough to deal with this but at the same time it's so rich throughout the
05:39whole time
05:40you could feel the love you could feel the energy and this is actually why it was so important for
05:45everyone
05:46to be there their space calmed down and they started to transport us on our chairs
05:51and that feeling was so comforting we want to show each other that we know what's going on but we're
06:01not sad
06:01we're together everybody started to touch us I felt you know they were trying to connect with me on my
06:10level
06:11of the heart the wedding for us was celebrating life and love
06:18and that feeling I will keep with me everybody wanted to be there you know they all showed up
06:26it was a true genuine healing
06:34it's an intense time for us but it was a true genuine healing
06:39then I don't think you need to be a shaman to make it happen you just need to say yes
