00:00Hi friends! I hope you're having an inspiring day. My name is Mel and welcome
00:04back to another episode of Routine Reversal. Today we are talking all about
00:10summertime skincare. So I travel a lot but in the summer I love to stay here in
00:17Toronto. It is so beautiful everybody's out on patios and you just want to be
00:22outside but with you being out means your skin is out too and naturally
00:28moving from a minus 30 degrees Celsius to positive 30 degrees Celsius means your
00:34skincare has got to change. And today I am swapping routines with my friend Chelsea
00:39at Refinery29. Hey everyone I'm Chelsea Peng, fashion editor at Refinery29. For me
00:46skincare isn't one-size-fits-all. In summer I have to switch things up and think
00:50about being outside and on the go even more. So this means swapping out your oils
00:55and creams for lighter white gel textures with ingredients that don't clog your
00:59pores. Sun protection is important year-round but even more so during the
01:03summer. Otherwise I really just try to lean into a dewy glowy look that's pretty
01:07natural for this time of year. Other than that you don't need anything. Good luck Mel,
01:11have fun! And with heat comes sweat. So I am so excited I'm gonna be trying the
01:17Degree Ultra Clear Black and White Dry Spray. I'm super excited to try this dry
01:23spray because it goes on instantly dry. It also keeps those yellow marks off your
01:30white clothes and the white marks off your black clothes. For the summertime I
01:34typically like to go a little bit lighter on my makeup and go for that no
01:38makeup look. So skincare is more important than ever. I really like to start
01:44off my skincare with this sheet mask here. This is the St. Ives Revitalizing Acai
01:50Blueberry and Chia Seed Oil Sheet Mask. This sheet mask is basically a super food
01:56smoothie for your face. And Acai is so great for you. One, because it's got
02:02antioxidants in it and it's also super hydrating for your tan. And we're all
02:08trying to get a little bit of a tan in the summertime. Next up I'm going to use a
02:13vitamin C serum. And vitamin C is so great because it brightens your skin and it's
02:18also got a lot of essential nutrients in it. So this is basically in my summer
02:24skincare routine and normally I'd follow it with my makeup. But a little extra
02:29skincare tip for you for nighttime use this cooling overnight recovery mask and
02:35your skin will thank you. The reason why I love this mask is after being out in the
02:40sun and having fun for a fall day there's nothing better than something
02:44that's refreshing and cooling on your freshly tanned skin right before you go
02:49to bed. And that is it for our summer skincare episode for routine reversals. I hope
02:55you liked it. If you did, make sure to give it a big inspired thumbs up. Comment below let
03:01us know what your favorite summer skincare tip is and if you've tried any of
03:06these products. With that I hope you have an inspiring rest of your day. Remember
03:10kindness doesn't cost a thing and I'll talk to you next time. Bye!
