As if Blake Lively weren't #blessed enough. In her latest movie, The Age of Adaline, she stars as a beautiful young woman who — through an enchanted moment involving an old-timey car crashing into a lake — becomes lucky (or cursed, depending on how you look at it) to never age beyond 29. The film has pulled out all the stops to keep Lively‘s character, Adaline, glowing and youthful through an entire century of fashion and beauty trends — from the Roaring '20s to the mod '60s to the present.

00:04Only four colors and only a couple lipstick colors.
00:07So they actually, our hair and makeup artists, found these original ones and then they tried to match it.
00:12There's a reason that like you look at pictures of women from the 20s and their faces look kind of
00:16like almost like flat or deadened.
00:18The makeup, where now it's like alive and dewy and metallic, but it's because of what they were putting on
00:23their face or the lead or the different things that affected the way they looked.
00:27I didn't put lead on my face in this movie, don't worry.
00:30I'm not that dedicated, but the jump from the 50s to the 60s, that was really neat because socially and
00:35politically there was a huge jump between the 50s and 60s and you really felt that too.
00:39And the hair, things got more loose and they got more free and so that was probably the most rewarding,
00:46those two decades to shoot because you really saw how different they were and it was neat.
