00:00I have total confidence in John Healey. Look, when I came in as Defence Secretary,
00:04I said pretty much on day one that I trusted John Healey to give us the money we need to
00:08keep our
00:08country safe. I'd been working on the assumption that we'd have 3% of our GDP on defence by 2030.
00:15And what John Healey's done in the budget this week is share that commitment and confidence
00:20to others, whether that's our industry, whether that's allies. And we've seen that reflected in
00:25the support of the Confederation of British Industry here at home, as well as our NATO
00:30allies, including the Secretary General Mark Rutter, who said very clearly that this puts
00:35us on the path to meet our NATO commitments. We are already investing in defence. This
00:41budget gave us more. There'll be even more to come at next year's spending review. And
00:45that shows this is a Labour government that puts its money where its mouth is when it comes
00:49to investing in our defence.
