Jacob obtained the blessing, but had to flee immediately to save his life. The man who seemed to have won everything left his home with nothing: no family, no home, and no direction; only the clothes on his back and a promise in his heart. This passage from Genesis teaches us a vital lesson: when we try to force things with our own hands, we can lose everything in the process until we are left with only God. And it is right there that we discover He is more than enough.
