00:01Well, the Royal Rumble happens only once a year.
00:04It certainly begins the road to WrestleMania.
00:06I love the 30-man Royal Rumble matchup.
00:10Say what, Royal Rumble rolling into the bonus city, baby.
00:13Royal Rumble's one of my favorite of all time.
00:15You know, it was fully debuted at the Rumble.
00:17Big deal of it.
00:18I remember, ladies and gentlemen, if you remember, we've been asking all night
00:22what your thoughts were regarding who actually did end Jeff Hardy
00:27in the hotel room in Baltimore.
00:29We asked you to text your vote, and here are the results.
00:36Wow, 65% think that Edge was responsible for what happened in Baltimore.
00:44That certainly spurred this Triple Threat match tonight for the WWE Championship.
00:54Everybody probably has their own opinion on this Jeff Hardy situation.
00:58Jeff Hardy was found unconscious this morning in the stairwell of his hotel here in Boston.
01:03We have just been informed that Jeff Hardy would not be able to compete here tonight,
01:08so the WWE title will be a one-on-one matchup.
01:16And Triple H.
01:17Oh, God, he hit it!
01:19Pedigree!
01:20Both men are down.
01:23He's here!
01:25He's here!
01:26He's here!
01:27He's in human.
01:29What?
01:29You've got to be kidding me!
01:31The wild-eyed look at this!
01:33I read on WWE.com what was going on with Jeff Hardy,
01:37and I had to take action into my own hands!
01:42And now to Triple Threat match!
01:44No disqualifications!
01:46He doesn't have the same gumption that someone like me,
01:50a true champion, has!
01:54Wait, wait, wait!
01:55Oh, God, there's Jeff Hardy!
01:57That's Jeff Hardy assaulting Edge!
02:03Hardy going manic with a steel chair!
02:09And there's a spear by Edge!
02:15Oh, we've got a new WWE Champion!
02:18The Ultimate Opportunist strikes again!
02:23Jeff Hardy had worked so hard,
02:25had built so much momentum,
02:27but someone assaulted Jeff Hardy in the stairwell,
02:30and then wasn't just so convenient.
02:32Here comes Edge to make it a Triple Threat match.
02:36I am sick and tired of everyone blaming me
02:39for what happened to Jeff because I didn't do it!
02:42Think about the person who had the most to gain
02:44and the least to lose.
02:46Who is it?
02:48Triple H!
02:50At Armageddon, it will be a Triple Threat match!
02:54Three men vying for the WWE title!
02:57Jeff Hardy, Triple H,
02:59and the WWE Champion Edge!
03:03Jeff, you were never a big enough blip on my radar
03:07to warrant an attack.
03:09I'm sick of the game!
03:10I'm sick of you!
03:11Now you've put yourself in my path, Jeff,
03:14and I will run you down!
03:19It seems like my two opponents in the Triple Threat match
03:22for my WWE Championship,
03:24it looks like they're ready to tear each other's heads off.
03:27I don't care if I walk out.
03:30I don't care if you show up.
03:32I don't care if I crawl out.
03:33When it's all said and done.
03:35I am leaving Armageddon.
03:36I will be walking out of there.
03:38I will be walking out of there.
03:39The WWE Champion!
03:41I will be walking out of there!
03:46Peraspheres to the co-number one contenders
03:49for that man's WWE title!
03:52The ultimate opportunist picks his spot again.
04:05This contest set for one fall is a triple threat match for the WWE Championship.
04:22Time to play the game.
04:38It's all about the game and how you play it.
04:42All about control and if you can take it.
04:45All about your debt and if you can pay it.
04:47It's all about pain.
04:48The fans here in Buffalo New York have risen to their feet, ladies and gentlemen, in anticipation for what should
04:54be one of the great main events in the history of Armageddon.
04:59An event that started back in 1999.
05:02An event that this man, Triple H, was in the main event and victorious in the very first Armageddon event.
05:10Well, I'll tell you, the game's face, his eyes tell the story, bound and determined to regain the WWE Championship.
05:20A win tonight would make it number 13 for the Cerebral Assassin.
05:50The King of Kings looks to be in magnificent position and the game was in great position to become the
05:58WWE Champion back in Boston.
06:01All right, well, as I said, Baltimore earlier.
06:03A little excited here.
06:04A little too much coffee today.
06:07But it was the ultimate opportunist, Edge, who wasn't even entered in the Triple Threat match when they came on
06:14the air in Boston at the Survivor Series.
06:16Yeah, and coincidentally and how convenient, Edge just happened to show up and his wife put him in a match
06:23and who would have thunk it if we had a new champion.
06:25That was then, this is now.
06:48Jeff Hardy has had amazing success in the WWE since debuting, believe it or not, when it was only 16
06:55years of age.
06:56Jeff Hardy has had amazing success in the WWE since debuting, believe it or not, when it was only 16
06:57years of age.
06:57I think he might have fit a little bit on his, on his paper one.
07:00But be that as it may, Jeff Hardy has won 16 championships in the WWE, but the coveted WWE title
07:09has eluded him.
07:11You know, JR, you have to wonder, is tonight Jeff's night?
07:17It almost as if Jeff was questioning himself earlier, saying that people wonder, hey Jeff, do you have what it
07:23takes?
07:24We've heard Triple H say that to Jeff.
07:27You've come this close, but never were able to seal a deal.
07:30Will that happen tonight?
07:32By his own admission, 2008 has been a controversial year for the strange enigma, Jeff Hardy.
07:40And will he be the Buffalo Bill to the WWE, take four trips to the Big Dance, come home with
07:47no ring?
07:47In this case, no WWE title.
07:54You think you know me.
08:03Probably, ladies and gentlemen, the only man that enjoyed Friday Night SmackDown more than anyone was the WWE champion.
08:12I think that's the only one in this match, because two nights ago, it was Triple H and Jeff Hardy
08:16going one-on-one.
08:19Edge liked what he saw.
08:21Well, Edge had a great opportunity to sit back in a cat-burnt seat and watch the game and watch
08:27Jeff Hardy beat the daylights out of each other.
08:30That's not the deal now.
08:32Triple Threat, baby.
08:34And I'll tell you, this match, a Triple Threat does not favor the champion.
08:38No disqualifications, no count-outs.
08:42The first man to score a pin or submission will win.
08:46And the winner is then the WWE champion.
08:57Introducing the challengers first, from Canberra, North Carolina, weighing 225 pounds,
09:04Jeff Hardy.
09:10Next, from Greenwich, Connecticut, weighing 255 pounds,
09:17Triple H.
09:22And the opponent, from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, weighing 241 pounds.
09:28He is the current WWE Champion, the Rated-R Superstar, Edge.
09:41Referee Chad Patton has signed this contest.
09:43Tonight's main event, remember the rules.
09:46They are very simplistic, but important to know.
09:49No disqualifications in this match.
09:51There can be no count-outs.
09:53And the match will continue until one man scores a pin or submission.
09:58And look at the Jeff Hardy.
09:59The man that 65% of you believe assaulted Hardy in Baltimore.
10:04In the hotel.
10:06Hey, baby, that's why Jeff Hardy was pin-hot in the suit of Edge from Jump Street here.
10:11Oh!
10:16Jeff Hardy with a quick start.
10:18Looking to end this early.
10:19Remember the, as the rules that we've stated,
10:22the Champion doesn't have to be involved in the equation whatsoever to lose his championship.
10:28See, Jeff Hardy, I mean, Jeff, the unpredictable one himself,
10:31Jeff Hardy has some significant, no, trust in that, trust in that, say,
10:36and momentum coming into this matchup.
10:37And Jeff Hardy's building confidence.
10:41And a little, whoa!
10:43Got a little added burden.
10:45Hardy teamwork.
10:46And Jeff Hardy looking for a cover.
10:48Here we go!
10:49And the first cover of the match created by Jeff Hardy.
10:53Does that make a mistake?
10:54I'm sorry, JR.
10:54I mean, Triple H not saving Edge.
10:57Triple H to be Jeff on a wall here.
10:58Triple H wanting to stop the pitfall over,
11:01otherwise the match would have ended.
11:03And, you know, then the game would have left for the title.
11:05It's really like a sudden death situation.
11:07The first pin, first submission wins it.
11:09It's that simple.
11:11And look at this.
11:11Oh, wow.
11:12Jeff Hardy had his back to the Champion.
11:14Not good advice, quite frankly, in hindsight.
11:18And the Rated-R Superstar making the risk-taker pay.
11:23Well, you gotta have your back to somebody in this matchup here constantly.
11:27It's a triple threat.
11:28There's three men out here, every man for himself.
11:30Two of the men, the Champion of Triple H are outside.
11:34And Jeff Hardy joining them with that risk-taking mantra of his.
11:41The game able to avoid Hardy's contact.
11:45Well, it's that reckless style of Jeff Hardy.
11:47It paid off there for sure.
11:50Again, no count outs.
11:52Oh!
11:53It paid off.
11:54But Slumber knocking clotheslines are legal.
11:58This is our Triple H here.
12:00Kind of a quick edge in harm's way.
12:04And then set himself up for this right here.
12:06Boom!
12:07Tremendous by the Cerebral Assassin.
12:09Great awareness.
12:10Great awareness.
12:11Great ring awareness by Triple H.
12:13Looking to become the champion for the 13th time here tonight.
12:1830!
12:20Upside down.
12:21His head bouncing off the exposed concrete.
12:24Well, listen, it's well documented that Triple H is one of the most clever and crafty, intelligent competitors in the
12:30history of the WWE.
12:33All three of these men are lifelong fans.
12:36All three of these men have prepared, no doubt expertly.
12:39But no one takes it to the level that there is the Cerebral Assassin who's getting handed right now, with
12:46Hardy out of the picture.
12:48Let's see if the ultimate opportunities can kick it and take advantage.
12:50Look at Edge, we have an opportunity.
12:53WWE Champion, Edge is blasting the game in the head.
12:57Is there anybody more controversial than our champion in Edge?
13:03Triple H retaliating with a taped right fist in a Triple Threat match.
13:08and it's one on one it's time to make hay even though the sun's not shining tonight there's a
13:14cover for the part leg results in eight near paul all right tell you what like him or not i
13:21uh
13:21respect the tenacity of edge to go for a quick win not easy to do with with uh triple h
13:28trying to get out of here if you can if you're the champion the game connects with a perfectly
13:38executed high knee blasting ash it's mostly gonna blast it tremendous cattle with the neckbreaker
13:46the game in the waste of motion steps in with that reverse neckbreaker on edge who has had
13:53some neck issues in his career they're not going to help the neck issues off the champion nice high
14:01impact triple h bringing it big time did not make any mistakes building their momentum all important
14:09momentum jeff hardy back jeff hardy had been out of sight out of line momentarily that's what happens
14:17if you take your mind off of the other the third competitor at times jeff hardy lowered his head
14:23and again the game one step ahead no pun intended of his challenge triple h was sewing in for a
14:30like a pedigree on the edge earlier and you're gonna pedigrees look at this the game looking to
14:36pedigree the champion jeff hardy whispers in the wind he got some of the game no doubt about that
14:44maybe a little bit of the wwe champion as well the explosive jeff hardy leveling the player field all
14:52three competitors are down okay only the triple threat match you'll see something like this
14:59they can't go for the crew to con and then look at that oh man hardy called triple h's right
15:05in the
15:05head may have concussed the cerebral assassin and jeff hardy's unorthodox all the man looking for three
15:12the count broken up wisely by triple h so the match continues
15:20as you put it jr it's more like a sudden death type of situation
15:26first pin full all submission this bad boy's over hardy trying to leap up on the turnbuckle his foot
15:32slips hardy then you see the position that he he landed in very gingerly and now edge looking to take
15:39advantage that's what happens when you have that unpredictable style of jeff hardy sometimes it
15:44works sometimes it doesn't oh wait a minute the game oh getting underneath edge and hardy
15:54edge in the electric chair position just got shot to the canvas both the game and edge are down
16:02can hardy capitalize i think edge is right for the picker right here for either one of the code number
16:07one contenders here we go title on the line look his hook and again third time in the match the
16:14game
16:14interrupts the count to continue the match check out this whisper in the way look look at it look at
16:32the opportunity for jeff hardy that he couldn't capitalize on the game looking for a pedigree
16:40jeff hardy counters and triple h eats some turnbuckle
16:50both feet you see the high impact driving the air out of the game right into the sternum with both
16:56feet
17:15and now where it's almost a one-on-one thing with jeff hardy and edge
17:26he's the only man standing at this moment well edge edge barely standing at edge
17:35got the game instead the clothesline over the top goes the wwe champion
17:46could it be jeff hardy's night or there's a 13th timer for the game here we go
17:53the twist of fate scores there goes jeff hardy hardy looking to take it all
18:00hardy's gonna get it
18:01it's hardy pins the game it's over we've got a new champion champion three
18:09and that says no oh emphatically and physically no this match will continue
18:15edge just snatching victory away from jeff hardy and saving his own wwe championship in the process
18:25and hardy's body throwing against the security wall his carcass frailing the security wall
18:33which is so unforgiving well i just got a glance at edge's eyes and words can't describe that
18:40wildly look watch his head's going for a spear
18:44and a game book you know he ain't the bullet there the game got the spear the game got the
18:50swan top
18:50and now can edge get the advantage and beat jeff hardy one thing about the triple front man
18:56you can't get counted out but you gotta have your point in the ring to get the pinball for submission
19:09that's what brings the uh intensity up the intensity in this type of matchup and the viciousness
19:15there's no doubt about it the radio all superstar possesses those traits all the andes up pie
19:20everybody's all in on this one and this time it's the champion with that wild-eyed look
19:28who gets a face full of an ounce desk
19:34jeff hardy showing nothing but heart and resiliency
19:40hardy sending ads for a very unceremonious ride with an extremely abrupt ending
19:52i think business as far as jeff hardy's concerned has picked up
19:56yeah i think you might be frank about that bad intentions on the mind of the extreme enigma
20:02and remember now that the the referee is helpless after what he can under can't do here
20:08it's all legal all legal
20:11we are looking for one fall and one submission but it's going to be done in the ring and the
20:17game
20:17puts himself right back in the hook the cerebral assassin attacks again picks his spot
20:25he scores a home run on it man that was just great timing on the game's pot
20:30uh-oh amazing physicality these three men paying a supreme price to become wwe champion
20:40still getting straight up nasty
20:44you know what it means to the heart and in the soul of these three men to be the most
20:50coveted champion
20:51in all the wwe the ultimate prize is at stake the wwe title and triple h
20:59lives for that championship has worked for years and years so hard for the title
21:04was stolen from him last month and wants it back now jeff hardy's soul is haunted by the fact that
21:11he's never been the wwe champion it has just regained the wwe title but look at triple eight fighting with
21:17everything he's got to eliminate jeff hardy here now it could be disaster for these strange enigma
21:34oh something bad is going to happen you can feel it you can feel it building
21:41oh good god
21:58the heart and soul of jeff hardy has just been speared right out of this arena my ads are table
22:05destroyed
22:09jeff hardy's chances destroyed but what has that done to himself and where does this leave the game
22:16that was insane that was one of the most insane things i've seen in years i'm telling you
22:20there's no way hardy's getting up after that done good god
22:29amazing
22:37you can see it you can hear the impact and now back in the ring oh here it goes look
22:43at the winners
22:45let's come back to one-on-one the ddt
22:49that impaler ddt by the by edge has just planted triple h
22:56neither man can be counted out we're going to continue this fight lasts all night long
23:10i'm speechless out here things just just this far now stable just imploded
23:17at jeff hardy's body and now edge now has the advantage it's thinking sphere one has to assume
23:27the game is
23:29the game is able to pull himself together and maybe that's the move that triple h needed
23:39to become wwe champion one more time i think the game has shown it in and here comes the better
23:54you can't be disqualified but just saved as a title
24:03man hardy coming to get some retribution for coslo from earlier tonight
24:28man hardy trying to
24:34to retaliate with this huge powerful russian
24:42this is all legal that i get triple threat no disqualification
24:49no countouts there's one man in the ring he's the wwe champion we have had chaos this match is
24:58mired with controversy but we still have the wwe title match in progress
25:07triple h trying to wheel his way back into the squared circle
25:12you can just see triple h and edge both physically spent
25:17body's been battered here there's a spear a thunderous spear
25:25it should be it's gonna be it will be not three talk about resiliency the toughness the fortitude
25:34of the game the will to be wwe champion and what it means to the cerebral assassin able to kick
25:41out
25:47this is thewhelm of this man how to trick out a man do some desperate men do desperate things
25:55the eyes on the mad man it's the eyes of a mad man look look at this chair
26:04We know exactly what the WWE Champion is planning.
26:10No, no.
26:12Concerto.
26:14My God, there's Jeff Hardy.
26:18Man, wow.
26:21Where did the hecka Jeff Hardy come from?
26:26Hardy going to the top.
26:29No, not so close.
26:33Hardy has been so close, but seemingly every time something happens.
26:40Triple H was smart enough to realize the momentum rapidly was shifting in
26:45Hardy's corner and he hit.
26:47Triple H had to stop it.
26:48A base and elementary, what a brilliant counter for the game.
26:52To put Hardy in the position he's in.
26:55The WWE Champion is barely able to stand.
26:59Oh, here we go.
27:00There could be a pedigree of one, and that did it, the game sticks to pedigree.
27:07Triple H, where's that Hardy?
27:09Hardy, Hardy, my God, my God, Jeff Hardy.
27:13Smart talk, smart talk, let's go, Hardy wins, Jeff Hardy wins.
27:19Jeff Hardy's reminds the dream of a lifetime.
27:23New WWE Champion, Jeff Hardy.
27:30My God, I don't believe it.
27:33From Bear Devil to Champion, from Enigma to Icon.
27:41Tonight truly was a new chapter in Jeff Hardy's career.
27:45The
31:19Let's take you back to this historic night ladies and gentlemen.
31:27Take a look at how this one finally went down.
31:38Triple H going for the Pedigree of the Pedigree and...
31:42See Louie out of nowhere comes Hardy.
31:44Oh my God.
31:45That was a hard shot in the game's head.
31:48This was the third attempt out of Pedigree.
31:52And look at on our table.
31:54This is amazing.
31:55Amazing.
31:55Amazing.
31:58The human anatomy.
31:59But finally the game begins.
32:01The Pedigree.
32:02Oh no.
32:02That.
32:02And we thought that was that.
32:04That was the end.
32:05And then Cosgrove out of nowhere.
32:10And then Jeff out of nowhere.
32:12The Concerto of Tim.
32:13Oh!
32:14Was countered by Jeff Hardy who came out of nowhere.
32:17And this was a historic slow time.
32:23History was made right here baby.
32:26Boom!
32:28New WWE Champion.
32:30And the WWE Universe will no doubt be saying, let the Hardy, Hardy begin.
32:37We've got a new WWE Champion.
32:41Congratulations to the risk taking enigma, Jeff Hardy.
33:08The Pod is coming from Forwards.
33:13A thousand threats I've heard before
33:17The words are cheap
33:19The lines are made to pay
33:23The signs come and come from us
33:27A thousand threats I've heard before
33:31The heads are in the way
