00:00Also, I hope Kiesel aren't listening, but it does have bite marks where my dog has chewed on it.
00:05But I like that. Sometimes I'll look at that in a show and it kind of just brings me back
00:08to home, you know.
00:09Whenever I'm homesick, I just look at the end of my guitar and it just reminds me of my dog.
00:13Hi guys, I am Sophie Lloyd. I am currently on tour with Machine Gun Kelly and this is my Kiesel
00:18Aries.
00:19So this was the first Kiesel I ever got. I was just starting out on kind of social media and
00:23stuff.
00:23It was actually Rob Caggiano from Volbeat that suggested Kiesel to me and suggested that I check him out.
00:27So I kind of emailed them out on a whim, not really expecting anything.
00:30Just sort of being like, hi, I don't really have that many followers, but I'm trying to build this platform.
00:34Can you guys help me out with the guitar? Not really expecting to hear back.
00:37And I did. And they said yes, they would happily take me on as one of their artists.
00:41Kiesel basically kind of give you free reign to design whatever kind of guitar you want, really.
00:44So I was very excited about this.
00:46I was back in around like 2018, 2019 and it's now just become a complete extension of me.
00:50And it's been nice that I've been able to grow my platform with Kiesel as well,
00:54which has been really cool that they kind of took me on as a smaller artist.
00:57This was my artist series and I now have a signature guitar with them.
01:00So that's been a really cool journey.
01:01This guitar has been with me on a lot of tours back when I was in my first band with
01:04Marisa and the Moths
01:04to now doing stadiums and arenas with MGK.
01:08So this is scene tool. It's definitely a little road worn.
01:10You can see where I took it to the Kiesel factory
01:12and they very begrudgingly had to fill some holes that had been gashed in it here.
01:17I like little things on a guitar that like adds character to it and make it yours.
01:20So the body and neck are black limber, which tonally is quite similar to mahogany,
01:26but it's like light enough for me to throw it around on stage, which is very important.
01:29I do like to do silly stuff on stage.
01:31So that was essential for me.
01:32It's one of those guitars that's kind of when it's in your hands,
01:34you suddenly feel yourself become a better player because of the type of guitar you're using.
01:38I don't know whether it's because it's like easier to play because like the action is quite low
01:42or there's a lot of like access up here with the heel cut and stuff.
01:46So that was really, really helpful.
01:48And I just feel like my playing definitely went up a level since having this guitar.
01:51These are not the original inlays.
01:53These are actually stickers from this company called Fret Look.
01:57Really, really cool company.
01:58It can kind of create whatever you want and make it look like inlays of your guitar.
02:01And I was really surprised how it doesn't actually affect the playing at all.
02:04You can't feel them at all under your fingers.
02:06I love this guitar so much.
02:07Her name is Bandit and she's awesome.
02:09She's my best friend.
