00:00At daybreak, the Jewish elders brought Jesus bound into the praetorium to be judged by Pontius Pilate.
00:06Questioning Jesus carefully, Pilate turned to the chief priests and announced,
00:10I find no guilt in this man. But the crowd grew fierce, demanding the release of the criminal
00:15Barabbas instead of the innocent savior Jesus. Seeking to satisfy the angry mob while appeasing
00:21his conscience, Pilate commanded his soldiers to scourge Jesus severely. In the Roman courtyard,
00:26guards stripped Jesus and bound his sacred wrists with coarse ropes to a stone pillar.
00:31Raising cruel leather whips with metal tips, Roman soldiers struck the Lord,
00:36tearing his flesh without mercy or pity. Yet Jesus endured each blow in silence,
00:41offering his suffering to the Father for the redemption of all humanity.
00:44His precious blood flowed down the ancient column, fulfilling Isaiah's prophecy. By his wounds we are
00:50truly healed. When the scourging ended, the soldiers untied the savior and placed his simple linen
00:55garments back upon him. Bruised and bleeding yet majestic in divine peace, Christ bore the heavy
01:01price of our redemption with love.
