23:38en même temps, Jolene et I Will Always Love You.
23:41Plus, Floyd Kramer used to record there a lot,
24:24Oui.
24:25Le tout, l'album,
24:26l'album, l'album,
24:26l'album, l'album,
24:27l'album, l'album,
24:27l'album,
24:28et l'album,
24:31l'album,
24:33l'album,
24:33l'album,
24:34l'album,
24:35mais l'album,
24:36l'album,
24:37l'album,
24:38l'album,
24:39l'album,
24:39l'album,
24:39l'album,
24:40l'album,
24:40l'album,
24:40l'album,
24:40l'album,
24:49c'est pour moi.
24:52Unbélévable.
24:52Et donc,
24:53l'A,
24:54où j'ai toujours été le même,
24:56le Troubadour,
24:57le Whisky,
24:58le Rainbow,
24:59c'est-à-dire,
25:00mais j'ai aussi vu qu'en L'Aurel Canyon,
25:03You know, Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Neil Young, Jackson Browne,
25:06they were all up there, somewhere.
25:08And it was like this mythical, magical place, but it was also real.
25:12And I would drive my little Volkswagen up there, kind of hoping for a sighting.
25:16And would you sort of sit there waiting with binoculars and did you ever sort of...
25:19Total early stocking, definitely.
25:22You have a hugely successful career, both as an actor, film producer, and all of these things.
25:27But you've really dedicated the last few years to playing and performing music,
25:32which has been a great success for you.
25:33But why did you make that sort of... It was quite a dramatic career change.
25:36Well, OK, there's two things I'd have to say.
25:38I think everybody in the world knows something that they loved to do when they were younger.
25:43And you can ask them that question and they'll answer it.
25:46But there's always something that gets in the way, like, well, especially if it's something in the arts.
25:51Like, no, you can't make any money at that or, you know, get a real job, that sort of thing.
25:56But when I started songwriting, I was able to ask one of my favourite songwriters
26:02Bruce Springsteen why I could be starting to songwrite now when he had been doing it all his life.
26:09And he answered without hesitation and he said,
26:12because, Rita, creativity is time independent.
26:16And that really blew my mind because I thought...
26:19Hang on. Creativity is time independent?
26:20Yeah. How does that work?
26:21There's no clock. There's no clock that said, oh, you missed your window.
26:24That was supposed to happen in February of 92 or whatever.
26:27That if you have a creative impulse that doesn't go away, that it's there and why not use it if
26:33you can?
26:34And you're part of the London Jazz Festival.
26:36Yeah.
26:37Doing other shows around the UK and you're going to be playing in Europe as well while you're here.
26:41That's right.
26:42In a moment, you're going to play Diamonds for us, which is a really lovely song.
26:45Tell us where that comes from.
26:46Well, you know, I think I'm an ultimate optimist and I love to find the good in something even if
26:55there is nothing apparently good about it.
26:59And you have to look for that stuff. You have to really seek it out and I try to find
27:02that.
27:03And I always do. There's always something good that comes from the situation.
27:06Any positive experiences today or last couple of days you've come across?
27:09Just being with you is a positive experience.
27:12Thank you so much.
27:13Yes, it is.
27:14Just being here and making music.
27:16We're looking forward to hearing that song in a moment.
27:17Thank you.
27:17Thank you for joining us.
27:18Rita Wilson.
27:23Thank you.
27:24Dear Rita Wilson.
27:26And now, a project that brilliantly mashes together an assortment of different marvellous stylings.
27:31Please welcome, Corto Alto.
