01:20Aston Villa.
01:23No, they're a very good team, very good.
01:26I played the Interm a couple of times, I had mixed success.
01:32They have a great coach, one of the best in the world right now.
01:34I think he's had a lot of success in his career and they have some great players.
01:39I know they're on a great run as of late, so it's going to be a difficult game.
01:46They're the type of team that regardless of the game, they're always in the game, they're waiting for a moment,
01:51and they seem to always be ready for any type of game.
01:56So we know it'll be a tough challenge, but very excited for what's to come in this game.
02:01Thank you very much.
02:04Bon dia, Anthony.
02:07Aquí darrere, Anaïs Martí de La Vanguardia.
02:11Espera.
02:12Aquí.
02:13Here.
02:20que us aneu intercanviant l'extrema esquerra,
02:28Gracias.
02:34To be honest, I only ever compete with myself.
02:37I don't look for anyone else.
02:39No other man's success or failure affects my life in the end.
02:43I think this is a very narrow-minded way to think if you are this type of person.
02:48Like I said, I'm not. I focus on myself, the best I can do.
02:51If I play 90 minutes or five minutes, I try to be the best version of me in those minutes.
02:58As far as adapting, I think everybody has made me feel really welcome.
03:02Everybody has been really nice because we have a great culture here,
03:06very friendly, very lively because everyone is so young.
03:09so it's quite fun to be a part of.
03:13I would say mainly the English speakers, in terms of Eric,
03:17the ones who can help me sometimes.
03:19I understand most things, but sometimes when I don't,
03:22it's nice to have that rebound where they can help me a little bit.
03:25So, thank you very much.
03:26Thank you very much.
03:30Here, Anthony.
03:31I have I think of the Sports.
03:33You always describe the importance of the mental aspect of the job.
03:45¿Quién quieres saber si seguís trabajando a nivel mental aquí a Barcelona?
04:01Gracias.
04:07Being consistent mentally is obviously the biggest challenge in football
04:11or maybe in life for not just footballers,
04:14for people in any line of work.
04:16It's really hard to be consistently the very best version of yourself,
04:20but I try to do the things that work for me.
04:23Like I said, that's different for everyone, that looks different,
04:25but for me it's having a good routine, reading books,
04:28really pushing myself in training, practising, staying longer.
04:33They're the type of things that make me better, more consistent,
04:35so I try to do these as best and as often as I possibly can.
04:41The challenge of joining Barça is different to what I've had before
04:44because at Everton I was fighting relegation for two, three years,
04:49which was tough.
04:50At Newcastle we were fighting for maybe Champions League
04:53and to push up the table,
04:54and now I'm fighting with Barça for every trophy.
04:58So I've had three very different challenges as far as the teams that I've played for.
05:03I really enjoyed all three because they've come with different things,
05:08they help you as a person, help you grow.
05:09But I think to be competing on every front for every trophy is definitely the most enjoyable.
05:14I think people think it's more pressure,
05:16but it's actually better pressure than fighting relegation
05:20and fighting to push up the table for Champions League
05:23because ultimately I want to win every trophy.
05:26I want to be the best version of me,
05:28and this club allows me to do so.
05:55I think my demands are always the same,
05:58which is to score, to assist,
07:23porque jugaron contra Man City,
08:20Hi, Anthony here.
08:21Paul Boyer from The Athletic.
08:23You have talked about nice pressure here.
08:26Can you walk us through,
08:27like getting used to these new levels of demands
08:30and the quality in your teammates?
08:32Because you've mentioned in the past examples,
08:34like you're surrounded with players now that see your runs.
08:38Just like Pedri,
08:39I think that you mentioned in that interview.
08:41You play alongside Rafinha from Yamal as well.
08:45So if you can walk us through examples of how has it been for you
08:49to get adjusted to those new levels of quality.
08:57It's difficult because, again, it's not about them,
09:00it's me adjusting to this team, to the environment, to the culture.
09:04I'm still getting used to certain players, you know, tendencies,
09:08what kind of passes they make.
09:11So for me, depending on the player,
09:13I make different kind of runs because I kind of know
09:16whether they're going to pass in the position they have the ball.
09:19So it will take time.
09:20I've only been here two and a half months, maybe three months.
09:23So I haven't had long to get used to it.
09:26And I think so far, like I said, I've adapted quite well,
09:30but can still do much more and given more time.
09:33I definitely will do so.
09:55Gracias.
10:00Everything is completely different.
10:04It's my first time ever living outside of England,
10:07moving outside the country.
10:08So I think that was a massive part.
10:10Getting used to everyday life in another country is very different.
10:14But I'm very lucky because this is a very beautiful country.
10:18It has great weather, great food,
10:20and most importantly, great people who are really friendly.
10:23I think that's been the biggest surprise for me,
10:25is that the team I play in has a lot of incredible players
10:29who could have really big egos, but they don't.
10:33They're really friendly, really welcoming and very humble.
10:36So for me, that's been the most pleasant part,
10:39is to see that so many players can be on this kind of level
10:43and remain humble.
11:06Jo volia preguntar-te si tu has vist fotos d'aquestes pancartes,
11:12amb només uns mesos aquí a Barcelona,
11:16Merci.
11:45No, I love it.
11:47I don't think it's normal.
11:49But believe me, it makes me a really, really happy person
11:52and it makes me want to do more for the club, for them
11:57because of the love and support that they've shown me so far.
12:01I love playing at home, I love going into our stadium
12:03and every time I walk onto the pitch before the game
12:06and I take in my surroundings and interact with as many people as I can
12:12because, like I said, they've shown me a lot of love and support
12:14and hopefully I'll be able to repay that with goals and a lot of trophies.
12:18Thank you very much.
15:42y he jugado antes
15:43y he jugado antes
15:45uno de los equipos más físicos
15:46en la liga
15:47tienen un gran jugador
15:48y tengo un gran jugador
15:50siempre me motiva el mismo
15:53ciertas cosas pueden motivar
15:54me más que otras
15:55pero yo intento permanecer
15:57lo mismo
15:57intento permanecer
15:59con mi motivación
16:00así que el hecho de que ellos
16:02no hace más motivación
16:03me
16:08Hi Anthony
16:08Just picking up on something
16:10you said earlier about
16:10you've been reading
16:12to improve yourself
16:13what books have you been reading
16:15and how have they helped you?
16:17I've read since young
16:18I spoke about this
16:19a lot of times
16:21I read books
16:22on a variety of things
16:23I mainly try and stick to non-fiction
16:25and things that will better me
16:27in real life
16:29but reading just
16:31helps me calm down
16:32it helps me kind of just regulate
16:34and really be still for a minute
16:36because in the world today
16:38if you scroll on TikTok
16:39and Instagram
16:39and you're watching a movie
16:41your mind's just constantly in a blur
16:43that's the way I see it
16:45I really struggle with that
16:46if I'm on my phone too much
16:48or I'm watching TV too much
16:50I really go into a blur
16:51so reading
16:52and meditating
16:54and maybe going on a walk
16:56them type of things
16:57connecting with nature
16:58they really help me just
16:59calm down
17:00and actually be present
17:01enjoy my surroundings
17:03and yeah
17:04enjoy my life a little bit more
17:05be a little bit more grateful
17:06because
17:07when you're in that
17:09you're on that wheel
17:09of dopamine addiction
17:10and you're scrolling
17:12you come away from
17:13from what's important
17:14I think
17:14I think
