00:27che sono conosciuti
00:28con la idea di teleportare
00:29For example, teleportation is a quantum concept, but of course we've all seen Star Trek and some of us have
00:39seen The Fly and Terminator.
00:43We also, those of us who have an iPhone, know that we can put our phones together and information is
00:49switched between the two phones simultaneously.
00:52That is in fact an illustration of teleportation.
00:56And here at OGR we have a very different space, a fantastic big space, and we've created an exhibition using
01:04an architecture from science fiction cinema.
01:08It's 2001 by Stanley Kubrick.
01:11There is a strange black object called a monolith, and we have built this monolith in many sizes into this
01:20space, and the films are shown on these monoliths.
01:24The whole show is about a parallel conversation around certain mysterious things that physicists discovered in the 20th century, and
01:35we call the show The Quantum Effect, because some of these ideas have been interpreted by novelists, by filmmakers, by
01:43artists.
01:44So it's a show about art and science, but maybe more about how artists react to scientific discoveries.
01:51If something happens to the one, the opposite immediately happens to the other, and that's because space doesn't exist in
01:59the quantum world in the same way.
02:01Between my hands, you see space in a kind of classical way, but in the ideas of entanglement, there is
02:09no space between two entangled objects.
02:12They are in fact one, and that's the kinds of things that we're exploring in the show.
02:17There's a room by a collective called Faustin, where what happens in one room simultaneously happens in another via projection
02:28that you can see in the show.
