second guide for this one, episodes eleven to twenty, and the ex changes tactics.
In the first ten he is always late. He arrives after the decision, after the door, after someone else has already helped. Ten episodes of a man walking into rooms where the thing he wanted has just left.
Eleven onward he stops arriving.
He is mentioned instead. Somebody reports that he asked around. Somebody saw his car. The show reduces him to a rumour, and that is a harder punishment than any confrontation — he would love a confrontation.
The point is that he never gets the version of the story where he is on screen. He becomes hearsay in his own marriage's aftermath.
Watch how many scenes he is in, per episode. The curve drops and never recovers.
