00:00We just took back Texas.
00:06We just proved that all the money in the world is no match for the people of Texas.
00:15We're the underdogs in this race.
00:17We went up against nearly 40 years of doubt and disillusionment.
00:22We went up against more than 300 million dollars, more than any Senate campaign in American history.
00:29This win is for every underdog who's been counted out and left behind.
00:35This win is for every teacher and every nurse, for every farmer and every rancher,
00:42for every young person who's trying to buy a home,
00:46for every parent who's trying to put food on the table.
00:51So, this win, this win is for every Texan who's ever wondered if anyone is listening.
01:01I heard you.
01:03We heard you.
01:05And tonight, the world hears you.
01:09Michigan, we did it!
01:12I think the Democrats have outperformed even their wildest dreams tonight.
01:17You know, they flipped the Senate.
01:19They flipped the House.
01:20That was called relatively early in the evening.
01:22They've expanded their map into, you know, the Farm Belt, the Midwest,
01:26into the Rust Belt, where they used to be extremely strong,
01:29but where MAGA fever sort of took hold a decade ago and made those areas very red.
01:34And now, the Democrats feel like more of a national party.
01:39This Senate seat does not belong to one family, one party, or to Washington, D.C.
01:45The biggest surprise for me is South Carolina.
01:48I mean, this is the reddest, one of the reddest states, you know, in America.
01:53Easy Trump victory.
01:55Any Republican should win easily there.
01:58And the fact that Lindsey Graham's sister, Darlene Graham,
02:01handpicked by Trump to take his place after he died, was defeated, is just a shocker.
02:06I think the Democrats finally winning two national offices in Texas
02:11for the first time in a generation.
02:13You know, they won the Senate with James Tallarico,
02:16and they won the governorship with Gina Inosa,
02:19which is just a remarkable performance for Democrats.
02:21We haven't seen that since the 80s.
02:24It's really been a long time, and, you know, it's just an incredible performance by them.
02:29And then you go into the Farm Belt.
02:31You know, they won a Senate seat in Kansas.
02:33That was on nobody's bingo card.
02:36You know, they won a Senate seat in Iowa as well.
02:38It's just remarkable performance around the country.
02:40And our whole country is booming. We're booming.
02:42Yeah, I think this is just a—it can't be seen any other than just a big repudiation of Trump.
02:47You know, he said, vote as if I was on the ballot.
02:49And I actually think people did.
02:50You know, the exit polls were saying that people were voting—
02:54they wanted more congressional oversight of Trump.
02:57They wanted more, you know, built-in opposition to him, to put checks and balances on him.
03:04So Democrats now have the gavel in both the House and the Senate.
03:08You should expect Trump cabinet officials to be called in front of Congress to answer for things that the Democrats
03:16want them to answer for.
03:17That means the Senate can also hold hearings and issue subpoenas.
03:21But they also are critical to confirming cabinet officials and judges.
03:27So now, with the Senate in Democratic control, that makes it very, very difficult for Trump to continue to appoint
03:34judges around the country.
03:35You know, it's just enormous powers that the Senate has that they will certainly exert in a way that the
03:42Republican-controlled Senate did not.
03:462028 will be wide open because Trump won't be on the ballot.
03:50There will be no incumbent for the first time in a long time.
03:52I think what really the question is, like, on the Republican side is, can the MAGA movement live past Trump?
03:59We actually have the greatest economy we've, you know, I had the best economy in my first time.
04:04This blows it away.
04:05But because of the gasoline price, people don't see it as much as they would have without it.
04:12And the gasoline was caused by Iran.
