00:00Dancing with the Stars, are you loving this season?
00:01I am.
00:03It's scary because how good people are and how many, like, I said this the other day on TV, there's
00:13going to be some shocking eliminations because there's too many really good people.
00:19That's the, yeah.
00:20And the votes are so unpredictable.
00:25There's people that get tons of votes and you're kind of like, oh, they get tons of votes.
00:29And then there are other people that, you know, just from behind the scenes sort of scuttlebutt, like, there have
00:36been some close calls, frankly, you know, that I just, they don't tell me.
00:41I just eavesdrop.
00:42I listen in the conversations.
00:44If somebody on that show is important to you, you got to vote for them.
00:49Well, you are so important to so many people because you lasted so long on Dancing with the Stars.
00:54It was a shock to me.
00:55Your author bio said that lasted longer than expected.
00:58Did you, were you, like, ever frustrated at any point in the process or were you happy to be around
01:04for another week?
01:04You know, I went into it thinking I'm, you know, I will get voted off immediately.
01:10Like, just that was, you know, I was just like, I'm the oldest.
01:13I'm the fattest.
01:15I'm the sorest.
01:17You know, like, even going into it, I was already sore.
01:19So, it was probably, like, in the third week, I might have had a moment of, like, do I really
01:25want to keep doing this?
01:26Because it hurts.
01:27It takes up your life.
01:28Not just in terms of hours, because it's four hours a day, minimum seven days a week.
01:33Julia Stiles, you know, she just went home.
01:36And that was one of, I said, was there something you didn't expect?
01:40And she said, I thought there'd be a day off.
01:42There's no days off.
01:44Seeing the online support that I was getting, I was like, I can't, I can't take my foot off the
01:51gas.
01:51Right, you can't disappoint the fans.
01:53Absolutely.
01:54I'm an anti-bull kind of person and allergic to phoniness.
01:58So, they'd be like, oh, I do it all for the fans.
02:00That usually sounds so phony.
02:01But, like, I was doing it for the fans because there were so many people that were so invested.
02:06They were so excited for you.
02:07Yeah, I was like, I can't not, I can't not push.
02:11And I did, I pushed as hard as I could.
02:13At a certain point, I was going to come up against the fact that I was 59 years old.
02:18You know, it was going to catch up to me.
02:20And it did catch up.
02:21What do you make of the Guillermo comparisons?
02:23It's only natural.
02:24I mean, people have tiptoed around it as if I'm somehow going to be offended.
02:28We both come from late night.
02:29We're both in our 50s.
02:31We're both not particularly athletic when you look at us.
02:35So, we're both lovable.
02:36We're both, you know, we both.
02:37Yes, so much charisma.
02:38And we both represent an attainable contestant.
02:42Harry Shum is an amazing dancer and is incredibly fit.
02:45And there's probably people on the couch going like, I could never do that.
02:49Yeah.
02:49You know, whereas me and Guillermo, they're like, well, if he can do it, I could do it.
02:54I could do it.
02:55Go.
