Eighteen-year-old scholarship student Sloane Reed lives interdependently with her cancer-stricken mother, Elaine. On the surface, she is the daughter of a fish market stall owner, but in reality, she is the never-acknowledged illegitimate daughter of Marcus Voss, the crime boss of Silverhaven. When her mother urgently needs money for treatment, Marcus suddenly acknowledges Sloane and demands that she complete a dangerous mission to seize “The Prize” as his direct blood relative.
