00:02My client Patrycja, she works in a creative profession and she placed great emphasis on
00:09having a pleasant workspace that is spacious and aesthetically pleasing while also being
00:17separated from the living career. In her free time Patrycja enjoys listening to vinyl records,
00:24watching films, relaxing. Patrycja also likes minimalism as well as Scandinavian style
00:32and during our discussion we decided to also explore some colors in the design.
00:40My name is Karolina Jackowska, I'm the founder and interior designer of Onuko.
00:50This apartment is located in a quiet and green neighborhood in Wrocław. This apartment building
00:58was completed in 2024. The apartment layout proposed by the developer was convenient but it did not
01:07fully meet my clients needs. We enlarged the bathroom to make it more comfortable and functional.
01:16We also removed the walls, enclosing the home office and replaced them with a glass partition,
01:24allowing more natural daylight to reach both spaces and we gained more space in the hallway.
01:34Your dog finally nails that trick you've been practicing for weeks and you weren't filming.
01:40Luckily, you Green Home agent was. Your camera isn't just for security anymore,
01:44it records all day and Home Agent cleverly finds the precious moments and saves them for you.

02:41In front of the door hangs a thin custom-made veneered cabinet for everyday essentials, keys and shoes.
02:50The cabinet hangs up to free the floor, making the entrance lighter and more spacious.
02:58Hidden behind the entrance door is a large mirror,
03:02which visually creates the impression that the hallway is almost endless.
03:08The green color here introduces the palette that continues throughout the rest of the apartment.
03:16Part of the wardrobe faces the hallway, so Patrycja can quickly hang up her coat.
03:23It is a highly practical space, filled with storage and hanging rails, as well as a washing machine.
03:32We enter the living area through a custom-made oak veneered portal.
03:37This frame also holds plants and visually separates the two spaces,
03:43marking the transition from tiled flooring to herringbone wood parquet.
03:51The living space is simple and contemporary.
03:55We chose a cream modular sofa from Polish brand IWC.
04:02And a round wooden coffee table from Misa Form.
04:07Next to the sofa there is a white metal custom-made stand that holds a projector because Patrycja is a
04:15film lover.
04:18On the other side we keep the wall blank with a projector screen hanging on top.
04:27The wooden cabinet underneath houses Patrycja's vinyl player and collection,
04:33sound system and additional storage.
04:40We also chose sheer curtains with a concealed curtain track panel,
04:45of the living room, creating softer, more diffused light in the room.
04:55The home office is quite narrow, but by separating it with a glazed partition it feels visually more expensive.
05:06When you sit at the table you're able to see the living space and the courtyard rather than facing a
05:13wall.
05:19We didn't start the storage shelves from the bottom so they seem to float,
05:26making the space visually appear bigger in a tight space.
05:34The kitchen cabinet front and the kitchen island are clad in pink lacquer.
05:40On the walls we use small white tiles with light grey growth.
05:46It draws your eyes up and makes the kitchen feel more spacious than it is.
05:55Even though it's a compact kitchen we have plenty of pantry and storage space,
06:01integrated fridge, integrated coffee machine.
06:06The countertop and splash back are made of granite, creating a contrast with the pink.
06:14And under the kitchen island we also have more drawers.
06:21To keep the cabinetry clean and visually simple we integrated cut-out openings.
06:28The kitchen island also serves as a dining area.
06:35Above the island we used hanging lamps from falls.
06:44When the weather is warmer Patrycja also uses the courtyard as her dining space or to host friends.
06:58The bedroom is minimal and cozy with the least visual stimulation.
07:05Immediately by the entrance stands a large green wardrobe.
07:10The same color as the home office glazed partition.
07:14It offers plenty of storage and wardrobe space.
07:19We chose to have a hole as the door handle as it won't intrude and makes it easier to access.
07:27For the bedside tables the round edge also makes it easier for Patrycja to access the wardrobe at the other
07:35end.
07:39On the other side we have the parentesi suspension light from floss.
07:45It also takes up very little floor space and you can adjust the height and direction as you want.
07:53For the queen size bed we chose a light colored fabric bed from Polish brand IWC.
08:00with a puffy soft bed head where Patrycja can comfortably sit up to read at night.
08:12The bathroom required the most planning and coordination.
08:17The granite vanity unit is the highlight.
08:21The unit is wall mounted with no legs which gives it a light and floating appearance
08:28and leaves plenty of floor space underneath.
08:32For the bathroom feature wall we used small square tiles in a playful pattern.
08:42Above the toilet we also installed a storage cabinet finished in wood veneer.
08:51When designing compact spaces the most important thing for me
08:56is really understanding what my clients need.
08:59Then fitting in as much of that as I can when I'm planning the layout.
09:07Honestly even a minor adjustment like moving a piece of furniture or a wall just a little
09:13can make a huge difference to how well a compact apartment works.
