EP 2. He comes home from the Queen in fine clothes. Proper cloth, good cut, the kind of thing nobody in that house has ever put on him.

And not one person asks where they came from. They notice — the sister's reaction in EP 3 makes that clear — but nobody asks the obvious question, because the obvious answer would mean somebody gave him something, and then they would have to wonder why.
