00:56This is 10 News First, Sydney with Sandra Sully.
01:01Good evening.
01:02Just three days ago, Cricket Australia Chairman David Peaver refused to resign,
01:07even though the organisation he led was exposed for being rotten to the core.
01:12Arrogant and largely out of control.
01:14Well, right now things are developing quickly.
01:17We have just heard David Peaver has been forced to resign.
01:20So, let's go straight to Daniel Sutton with this breaking news.
01:23Daniel, what changed?
01:25Well, Sandra, put very simply, the walls were circling, the howling was getting louder
01:30and David Peaver knew that he was the meal.
01:32The Cricket Australia Board held a phone hook up this afternoon
01:35and we've just found out that he has officially resigned.
01:38They have accepted his resignation and that Earl Eddings,
01:42who is a board representative with Cricket Australia,
01:44will be acting in an interim way in his role.
01:48It was some of the state-based cricketing organisations
01:51which were particularly concerned.
01:53They had only just re-elected Peaver for a second three-year term last week,
01:58but they hadn't been shown that very critical review into the ball-tampering scandal.
02:04And when it came out and was highly critical of Cricket Australia management,
02:09well, they were furious.
