00:04My children are my whole world. I have four girls and one boy. Kevin's the love
00:11of my life and we've been married about 10 years. My husband and I started a
00:16micro bakery. My daughter makes these amazing brownies and my husband was like
00:21you should take these door-to-door. It's something that we love doing together.
00:24My kids definitely enjoy family time. They are very drawn towards quality time
00:32together. My youngest was about a year and a half old and I was breastfeeding her
00:37and I found a lump. Cancer did not even enter my mind. I didn't even think that
00:44it could be something serious.
00:54I finally was talked into going and seeing my doctor by my husband but I
00:59didn't have health insurance so I put it off a little longer. My first mammogram
01:05was a few weeks later and they had the radiologist come in and she told me, she's
01:12like, this looks definitely looks like a type of cancer. I remember in that room
01:18immediately just crying and asked God, why did you give me so many children if I
01:25was just gonna get cancer?
01:28When I went to the car I dreaded calling my husband. I could hear the tears in his
01:34voice. He said, we're gonna get through this and he said, God is gonna get us
01:40through this. The next step was getting a puncture biopsy. I held on to this little
01:48bit of hope that maybe she was wrong, maybe it wasn't cancer. After my biopsy, as soon
01:55as I sat down and he put the tissue in front of me, I knew it was cancer. Because I
02:02was
02:02not insured yet, no one would see me except for one oncologist and they did the CT scan
02:09and they discovered that my entire liver was covered in cancer and I was stage 4. I had
02:17no idea what stage 4 breast cancer meant. I didn't know there was no cure. It was August
02:23of that year and I was diagnosed with HER2 positive metastatic breast cancer. I did
02:29eight rounds of treatment. Cancer was undetected in my body for about four
02:34months, but I was still a little nervous because it just seemed a little too easy.
02:41And then I started noticing bruising along the side of my breast that had been affected. I went
02:47in for another mammogram and ultrasound. It was cancer. And then they went ahead and did a brain MRI.
02:54They found out that I had five very small metastasis. I had to go through targeted brain radiation.
03:06I had initially heard about in HER2 from my husband. He's like, there's this cancer medication
03:12that they're using for people who are stage 4, that the first line of treatment didn't work. And he was
03:18like, we should talk to your oncologist about this. By the time we went to my oncologist, that was what
03:23he had lined up for me to do. In HER2 is an IV infusion treatment for people with HER2 positive
03:30metastatic breast cancer who have received prior HER2 breast cancer treatments. My oncologist and I
03:37discussed potential benefits of in HER2, including its potential to slow disease progression, along with
03:44the possible side effects and common side effects, such as nausea, fatigue, hair loss, constipation,
03:50and decreased appetite. When I started in HER2, we started doing the treatments every three weeks.
03:58What is the most important information I should know about in HER2? In HER2 can cause serious side
04:04effects, including lung problems that may be severe, life threatening, or that may lead to death. If you
04:12develop lung problems, your health care provider may treat you with corticosteroid medicines. Tell your
04:17health care provider right away if you get any of the following signs and symptoms. Cough, trouble breathing
04:23or shortness of breath, fever, other new or worsening breathing symptoms, such as chest tightness, wheezing.
04:31Low white blood cell count, neutropenia. Low white blood cell counts are common within HER2 and can
04:37sometimes be severe. Your health care provider will check your white blood cell counts before starting
04:42in HER2 and before starting each dose. Tell your health care provider right away if you develop any
04:48signs or symptoms of an infection or have fever or chills during treatment within HER2. Heart problems
04:54that may affect your heart's ability to pump blood. Your health care provider will check your heart
04:59function before starting treatment within HER2 and during treatment if needed. Tell your health care
05:05provider right away if you get any of the following signs and symptoms. New or worsening shortness of
05:11breath, coughing, feeling tired, swelling of your ankles or legs, irregular heartbeat, sudden weight gain,
05:19dizziness or feeling lightheaded, loss of consciousness. Your health care provider will check you for these
05:25side effects during your treatment within HER2. Your health care provider may reduce your dose, delay treatment,
05:31or completely stop treatment within HER2 if you have severe side effects. I did have some side effects. I
05:38had a lot of fatigue and some nausea and as time went on it was I was able to manage
05:44it better but I discovered
05:46that if I took fluids twice after treatment I actually was able to handle the side effects a lot better.
05:55The
05:55fatigue was better and the nausea was better and that has been a complete game changer. These are not all
06:01the possible side effects of in HER2 and someone else's experience might be different. I've had
06:07targeted radiation in my liver and targeted radiation in my brain and with in HER2 I've been clear ever
06:13since. Of course this is my experience and others might respond to treatment differently. Now we use our
06:21bakery to reach out to other people to share my testimony of having stage 4 breast cancer. The main thing
06:29I
06:29learned about going through metastatic breast cancer is that people can surprise you about how amazing
06:38they can be. I believe God gave me five children. He gave me so many so I'd always have hope.
06:44I would
06:45always have something to fight for and I want to be there for every single stage that they all go
06:51through.
07:00Important safety information. What is the most important information I should know about in HER2?

09:26infection, have or have had any heart problems, are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. It is not known if
09:34in HER2 passes into your breast milk. Do not breastfeed during treatment within HER2 and for seven months

09:46and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins and herbal supplements. How will I receive in HER2?
