00:00Now with the Everywhere and Back Again project, you're choosing collaborators for specific songs.
00:05Maren Morris, goodbye to you.
00:07It is absolute heaven.
00:08The video meant so much to me because obviously your first album meant so much to me.
00:14And Laguna Beach means so much to me.
00:16And when they sang it on Laguna Beach, I always wondered, did you have a relationship with that scene?
00:20Obviously, you did.
00:21I knew about it.
00:23Obviously, people were like, oh, did you hear your song on Laguna Beach?
00:26But back then, I was on the road so much that I didn't watch TV.
00:32I had crappy satellite TV on the bus that was always cutting in and out.
00:37So following along to anything in real time was difficult.
00:42But it was really fun.
00:45It was Maren's idea to go and recreate the Laguna Beach prom scene for the video.
00:51Because she is a pop culture obsessed girl.
00:53So that makes sense that Maren would be the one spearheading that.
00:56Yeah, she kept me hip.
00:58And she's like, you know what would be really cool is if we recreate the prom scene video.
01:02And she's like, and I know Kristen.
01:04I could probably see if she wants to do it.
01:06And the next thing you know, we're like tracking down a Hummer limo.
01:12And it was so much fun to make.
01:14And Kristen was like, oh, my God.
01:16You were like the first celebrity I ever like saw.
01:20When we were doing Laguna Beach, we got invited down to the VMAs.
01:24And she was like, and I saw you on the red carpet.
01:26I was like, oh, my God, there's Michelle Branch.
01:28And I was like, and now here we are singing goodbye to you in a Hummer limo.
01:34I was like, oh, my God.
01:34I was like, oh, my God.
