The ACT’s largest battery storage system is now online. Located south of Tuggeranong, it's designed to soak up excess solar and wind energy then feed it to the electricity grid during times of peak demand. While no-one is promising cheaper power bills the battery's backers say it's an important part of energy security in the region.
