00:00Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're looking at scenes from Ryan Murphy created or produced TV shows that had
00:07us in disbelief.
00:08Be it due to how unexpected, bizarre, or just plain dumb they were, a few spoilers will follow.
00:15That was the most offensive thing I've seen in 20 years of teaching, and that includes an elementary school production
00:22of hair.
00:24Number 10. Oyster Dinner, Monster.
00:27They are still resting, but the vomiting is continuous. I fear they may not make it through the night.
00:38Mrs. Borden mentioned oysters?
00:42By season 4 of this anthology series, Monster was 50% true crime, 50% fanfiction, and 100% camp.
00:51Habby and Andrew Borden did indeed become ill before being murdered, and poison was suspected.
00:58Rosemary, ginger, and cardamom. It's hard to find, though.
01:13I'm going to hide the smell.
01:14It's never been confirmed if Lizzie Borden or Maggie Sullivan were involved, though, and oysters weren't the cause of the
01:22illness.
01:22As for whether the actual dinner was the spectacle of projectile vomiting and ruined pants depicted here, only those in
01:30the room can say for sure.
01:31But it feels disgustingly romanticized.
01:34Who would have thought that in a show about Lizzie Borden, the most grotesque moment wouldn't involve an axe, but
01:40rather viral gastroenteritis.
01:42We were prepared for 40 whacks.
01:4540 gallons of bodily fluids is another story.
01:48We could try a different poison.
01:51Now I know how we're going to kill them.
02:04Number 9. Ain't That a Peach? Ratched.
02:07We weren't sure what to expect from a Nurse Ratched origin story.
02:11But an extended dispute over a peach was not on our bingo card.
02:15Going through her sack lunch, Ratched makes an earth-shattering discovery.
02:19Nurse Bucket took her peach, and she isn't handing it over.
02:23I brought it here.
02:24And I bought it here.
02:26I paid for it.
02:27Maybe you stole it.
02:28Maybe I didn't.
02:29Well, what if you did? Then whose peach is it?
02:31Still mine.
02:32At most, this argument should last, what, 30 seconds?
02:35No, for almost two minutes, they not only go back and forth on who truly owns the peach,
02:41but how one could literally put their name on a peach.
02:45Felt tip?
02:46No one has ever put their name on a peach with a felt tip.
02:49I've seen it.
02:50No, you haven't.
02:51Maybe a pen.
02:52You could gouge your name into it with a pen.
02:55Mario and Bowser combined don't talk about peaches this much.
02:59It doesn't even end there, as Bucket proceeds to throw up the peach while watching a lobotomy.
03:05What a payoff?
03:06Seriously, was the writer just really craving fruit?
03:09No one is talking to you.
03:11Ooh, someone's cranky.
03:13She sure could use a peach.
03:15That is my peach.
03:17No, it's a peach in my mouth.
03:22Bye.
03:23Number 8.
03:24Dance of the Seven Veils, Hollywood.
03:27Jim Parsons was at his most extra as Henry Wilson, a real-life talent agent who did represent
03:33Rock Hudson.
03:34If you really want a screen test, you'll put Tuesday night on your calendar.
03:40My place.
03:45But Tuesday is tonight, Henry.
03:49I know.
03:50Wilson was accused of taking advantage of clients like Hudson.
03:54Although there's nothing in the history books about him performing the Dance of the Seven
03:58Veils for his reluctant beefcake.
04:00Parsons goes all out in a dance that he reportedly choreographed himself.
04:05Isadora.
04:06She danced from her groin.
04:10The emotion exploded out of her.
04:13Saturday.
04:15As unhinged as the routine and his wardrobe are, what's even more disturbing is the aftermath,
04:21as Wilson orders Hudson to spoon with him into the morning.
04:25The audience pretty much mirrors Hudson throughout this sequence.
04:28It's a combination of feeling unclean and not entirely sure what we just endured.
04:33All we know is that we can't unsee it.
04:37Mr. Wilson.
04:44You want to go to bed, huh?
04:46Okay.
04:47Come on.
04:49Number 7.
04:50Things get spontaneous.
04:52The beauty.
04:52One minute, you're having lunch with colleagues, talking about celebrity gossip and cosmetics.
04:57The next, things quite literally blow up in your face.
05:01Sweetie, Harper Rose.
05:03Get that tushy up and right back out the door, okay?
05:05Before Anna sees you.
05:06You know, she can't stomach human weakness and this is...
05:08I can't.
05:09I used all my sick days for Coachella.
05:11Meeting her friends Manny and Brittany, Vogue assistant editor Harper Rose starts to feel under the weather.
05:17Harper finds that beauty comes at a fatal price.
05:19As the virus inside her reaches its final stage.
05:23Water!
05:24Oh my god, there is no way, honey.
05:31In pursuit of water, Harper turns violent, knocking Manny and others around the cafeteria.
05:38Brittany suffers the worst of Harper's rampage.
05:40As she's thrown through a window in a fate so over the top that the only thing missing is a
05:45goofy scream.
05:46We'd still rather be Brittany than Harper, who becomes the latest in a string of combustions.
05:52There's no touching that up.
05:54What is this?
05:55Condé Nast staffers in blast range who instantly tested positive.
05:59Some of them got bodily fluids in their eyes, their mouths.
06:02Typical mucus membrane transmission.
06:08You might have been surprised to learn that Ariana Grande was in this satirical slasher series.
06:13You were probably even more shocked to find that she doesn't survive the pilot.
06:27Given the Janet Leigh treatment, Chanel No. 2 comes face-to-face with the Red Devil.
06:32Chanel No. 2 is about as bright as Kat Valentine.
06:36Not only opening the door for the masked killer, but responding to their text messages as well.
06:41And being kind of into it at first.
06:53Unfortunately, the Red Devil isn't role-playing.
06:56While Chanel No. 2 survives the initial stabbing,
06:59she's so dense that she goes for her computer rather than the door.
07:03If only she had enough time to press post.
07:06Actually, that still wouldn't have helped much.
07:08Look, we're all just freaking out, okay?
07:10Let's just rub our fingers together and promise to keep quiet.
07:12Okay, fine.
07:13Number 5. Madison Gives Birth. American Horror Story.
07:18Uh, Madison.
07:19What?
07:22I think the condom broke.
07:24Speaking of Ariana Grande, she was supposed to appear in American Horror Story Season 13,
07:30but she had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts.
07:33She may have dodged a bullet,
07:34because this season of the long-running anthology series went off the rails.
07:39And this is meant to help me.
07:41Of course.
07:42You sent me here to serve.
07:45Constance was nowhere to be found.
07:47I'm the one that had to think of a way to push you over the top.
07:50Those who stuck it out throughout the season were not rewarded.
07:54Instead, they were subjected to a birth scene that's laughably rushed.
07:58How rushed?
07:59Madison literally goes from having sex with Ben,
08:02to being nine months pregnant,
08:04to squeezing out a baby girl in about a minute.
08:07We think the aforementioned peach scene went on longer.
08:10Then Madison and Ben just kind of accept that this just happened,
08:13because at this point, who cares?
08:16Clearly not the writers.
08:17Me and the daughter.
08:19What are we supposed to even do?
08:22No one taught me how to be a good parent.
08:24Maybe we can make the world a better place for her.
08:27Give her parents a fighting chance at keeping her safe.
08:30Number 4.
08:31Going into space.
08:329-1-1.
08:33By the ninth season,
08:35these characters had dealt with so many outlandish emergencies
08:37that there was nowhere else to go but beyond the stars.
08:41So that's precisely where they went.
08:43Space.
08:47Trip Hauser is sending you to space.
08:52After saving a tech CEO from dying inside a whale,
08:55which is already a bonker setup,
08:57Hen is invited to go on a space mission
08:59with Athena coming along for the ride.
09:01Why do I want to go to space?
09:05I have no earthly idea.
09:07Throughout these episodes, we were in denial.
09:10They're not seriously going into outer space.
09:13They aren't doing this, right?
09:14It wasn't until the spacecraft launched
09:16that we finally accepted this was happening.
09:18And it only gets nuttier from there
09:20with a geomagnetic storm on the horizon.
09:23We'd say call 9-1-1,
09:25but they don't deal with space-related disasters.
09:28Or we guess they do now.
09:31Stabilizing!
09:31Nice job!
09:32Nice job!
09:37What happened?
09:38You reset the capsule,
09:40but Hen reset your heart.
09:43Number 3. Blurred Lines.
09:45Glee.
09:45We're all about freedom of expression,
09:48be it through speech or dance.
09:50We also appreciate teachers
09:51who stand up for their students.
09:53That doesn't mean it's appropriate for an educator
09:56to twerk alongside high schoolers.
09:59Twerking is about blurring the lines
10:01between past and the present,
10:03between men and women,
10:04between tradition and envelope pushing.
10:06It's all in that Alan Thicke song that I love.
10:08Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke?
10:10Exactly.
10:11That's not what that song's about.
10:12Sue Sylvester wants to dry a lot in the sand?
10:14Well, we're gonna blur it.
10:16And blow this debate wide open!
10:17Yeah!
10:18When Sue bans the infamous dance,
10:20Will Schuster takes to the halls with his class,
10:23twerking up a storm.
10:25Clearly, this is what the First Amendment was made for.
10:28Sue rightfully fires him,
10:29but Sue manages to win over
10:31the all-too-easily-swayed school board.
10:34I guarantee you that in 20 years,
10:36twerking will be considered a silly, nostalgic dance.
10:39So I ask you,
10:40do you want to be on the right side of musical history?
10:46We sense that we're supposed to be rooting for Will here,
10:49but all we want to do is yell at the TV screen,
10:52Mr. Sue, step away from the underage students.
10:55Twerking isn't as popular as it was in 2013.
10:58We blame Will.
10:59Yeah, after the school board made it,
11:01I thought it was smooth sailing.
11:03But twerking was and remains a hot-button issue.
11:06Number two, sex with sofa, nip-tuck.
11:09Here's the key,
11:11and Dr. Troy said make yourself at home.
11:13Thanks.
11:14Look forward to it.
11:15Remember that Twitter rumor
11:16about future Vice President J.D. Vance and the couch?
11:19We'd be very shocked if that user has never seen nip-tuck.
11:23I struggle with objective sexuality.
11:26What's that?
11:26Couch banging in English?
11:27OS is not a widely known condition.
11:30It's barely understood.
11:31The show that helped put Ryan Murphy on the map.
11:34Nip-tuck pushed the limits of what you could get away with on cable in the 2000s.
11:39It also broke down barriers,
11:41showing that there's nothing wrong with a man in furniture being in love.
11:45What we witnessed between Logan and his couch wasn't love, however.
11:49We're not even sure it was entirely consensual,
11:51with the couch being powerless to stop Logan.
11:53Christian and Sean walk in on Logan, catching him between a couple of cushions.
11:58We hope he wore protection, because sofa babies are a handful.
12:02My whole life, I've been attracted to perfection, in all of its forms.
12:08As plastic surgeons, you can relate, can't you?
12:13Get out.
12:16Get out!
12:17Number one, car misses her flight on 9-11.
12:22All's fair.
12:22All's fair is the pinnacle of Ryan Murphy in trash TV mode,
12:27assembling several talented actresses and Kim Kardashian to see how low they can sink.
12:32How low will this show go?
12:34Making light of September 11th.
12:36May 9-11 forever be known as the day the airlines fail me.
12:41I think you'll survive.
12:43Oh, jeez.
12:44On a private flight, car has a panic attack.
12:48Why?
12:49Because she almost died on 9-11.
12:51Really?
12:52Is that true?
12:53It's 100% true.
12:54What do you mean, almost that?
12:56I mean, I almost died.
12:58I was supposed to be on one of the planes.
13:01In a flashback, we see car miss her plane that tragic day,
13:05complaining that all the bad things happened to her.
13:08She also apparently missed several other ill-fated flights,
13:12including Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 and U.S. Airways Flight 1549.
13:17And Amelia Earhart is my great-grandmother,
13:20and I am also related to the Hindenburgs by some distant uncle sort of way,
13:24so do you understand why I didn't want to come?
13:26I mean, one can only escape the Grim Reaper so many times.
13:31Carr narrowly dodges death again as this flight almost goes down.
13:35It doesn't, but had it, her biggest regret would have been never trying scissoring.
13:41How out of touch are these writers?
13:43Oh, they were confused long before we got here.
13:47Which Ryan Murphy scene still has you asking,
13:49was that real?
13:51Let us know in the comments.
