00:04When Vanessa Maraj returned to her Daylight Road, Fisabad home just after 4pm on Wednesday,
00:10her 19-year-old son, Aaron Anderson, had only minutes earlier been fatally shot upstairs.
00:17According to police reports, a joint operation between the TTPS's home invasion team
00:23and members of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force carried out a search warrant
00:28for arms and ammunition at the home of Aaron Anderson.
00:32The TTPS says on entering the house, Aaron was found in the upstairs area,
00:37pointing a firearm at the officers and fearing for their lives.
00:41A Defence Force sergeant discharged one round from his rifle, which hit the suspect in the head.
00:47A loaded Glock 19 pistol, according to police, fell from the suspect's hand.
00:53But this account was rejected by the teen's mother,
00:56who says Aaron was with his girlfriend and aunt at the time.
01:00She said that they dragged him from outside in the back by his head
01:04and dragged him inside the house and shoved him down on the ground
01:09and came upstairs.
01:10And when the care came upstairs, Mrs. Ion said she hit one shot during work
01:14and then she hit a couple shots after.

01:40When you watch the pattern, they're dragging from the bathroom,
01:43straight down the step,
01:45along the joint room,
01:47out the kitchen and straight out the room.
01:54The mother of four says when Aaron was 16 years old,
01:58he was charged for shooting with intent,
02:01larceny and robbery with violence.
02:03He served two years in YTC
02:05and is currently on bail pending the outcome of those matters.
02:08On Thursday, she criticised the actions of police,
02:12saying innocent children are being slaughtered
02:15and nothing is being done to stop it.
02:17They lost a person to serve and protect,
02:21but they're taking the youth's own life.
02:25They're not even going after the real criminals on them.
