00:00Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Hollywood future, it seems like it could be hanging in the balance still.
00:05Charlie, what is the latest that they have going on?
00:07Because it seems like a lot has changed in their lives recently, but things that were supposed to come to
00:13fruition haven't yet.
00:14Yeah, I mean, it's very difficult to pinpoint exactly where all of their projects are in terms of stages of
00:23progress.
00:24Right. Now, a lot of questions were asked when Harry and Meghan moved back to the UK about why they
00:31were choosing to do it.
00:32And a number of people, myself included, believed that it was because they had kind of run short of things
00:40to do in Hollywood.
00:41I think when they moved to California, they had this massive idea of themselves as, you know, not just Hollywood
00:48stars, but like leaders in the industry.
00:50Yes. They didn't just want to be on the camera. They wanted to be talking about things.
00:55They wanted to be power players. They wanted to be directing, producing.
00:58I'm pretty sure, you know, if you ask me, Meghan probably had a spot saved on her mantle for a
01:03future Oscar.
01:05And never forget when they went to the Lion King premiere and they were trying to bump elbows with all
01:10of the execs there.
01:11Prince Harry was hustling to get Meghan something at Disney. It was. Yeah.
01:15But I think the issue is they have all of these ideas, the kind of beginning flames for a few
01:23different things have been lit.
01:25But then the flames have kind of died down. You know, we've got that project that has been in the
01:31works.
01:31I'm pretty sure since 2023, Meet Me at the Lake.
01:34Yes, Meet Me at the Lake.
01:35Which was an amazing book.
01:37But no one knows where that has gone. No one knows what's happening.
01:40We talked about it. Last year we talked about it because we were saying that it was such a good
01:45book and we were actually excited to see what they would do with it.
01:47We're still waiting.
01:49We are still waiting.
01:50There have been whispers of like, oh, maybe a super secret director has been attached.
01:54We don't know who.
01:55And then they have another movie project that once again, not really much has happened.
02:01Now, Page Six spoke to a number of different Hollywood sources who pointed out like, yes, there has been no
02:07forward momentum on any of these projects.
02:10Lest we forget the untitled polo documentary that they were meant to be producing that was going to reveal the
02:16sexy, glamorous side of polo.
02:18I personally was really excited about that.
02:21Nary a whisper about where that has got to.
02:24We haven't heard anything of that.
02:24And it was supposed to be a scripted show.
02:26So that was going to be a little fun, edgy side to their production company.
02:30And I think, you know, the thing is, Hollywood can take time, you know, a lot of things get stalled,
02:38a lot of projects get shelved, get canned, whatever it is.
02:42But from what I have seen, when Hollywood wants something and wants it really badly, like they get it moving.
02:50Right.
02:50When there's momentum and you would think that Harry and Meghan would have this momentum, especially because Meet Me at
02:56the Lake was such a good book from Carly.
02:58Then they also bought the rights to The Wedding Date, which they announced in 2025, also a book.
03:04So you would think that their power couple mentality and the fact that these are two bestselling books that everybody
03:11would want to see the adaptation of, you would think that those would move forward quickly.
03:14And look how quickly Netflix moves on other projects, you know, the work that it's doing with Alex Cooper's network
03:19on Well, it's like announcement, production, casting, like when Netflix wants to make something happen and capitalize on interest, Netflix
03:28does exactly that.
03:29Right.
03:30So it remains to be seen.
03:31But I think it ties in really interestingly with their move to the UK.
03:36It feels as though they didn't really have any hot irons in the fire in California.
03:40So it was the perfect time for them to go back to the UK and kind of try their hand
03:46at something else.
03:48What that is going to be, we don't really know.
03:52It remains to be seen.
03:52Megan's been busy releasing dog toys for Christmas.
03:55Well, I mean, as we have discussed, we need those dog toys for our dogs.
03:59Absolutely.
03:59I mean, a $20 plush jam.
04:02Fruit spread, I think is what you mean.
04:04Oh, so sorry.
04:05Right, right.
04:05Fruit spread.
04:07A little crazy, but I've done crazier for my dog, so.
04:11Haven't we all?
04:12Haven't we all?
04:12I think our girls need them.
04:13I think our girls need them.
04:14And, you know, I think.
04:15Destroyed in two seconds, but we're going to get them.
04:18Harry and Megan are now back in this awkward position of being like faux royals.
04:24You know, they're kind of acting like royals.
04:27They're doing official engagements.
04:28They kind of.
04:29They are.
04:30You know, they look very much like acting members of the royal family, but they are not.
04:35But they're not.
04:36And insiders have said, you know, this is causing some tension with the actual royal
04:41family because they're kind of masquerading themselves as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
04:46Right.
04:47You know, as though the whole blip in California never happened.
04:50Right.
04:50And I think that they really need to figure out their position.
04:56Their team or sources close to them have been very insistent that they aren't trying
05:00to steal the spotlight.
05:01They're not trying to take any attention away from William and Kate or Charles and Camilla.
05:06But at the same time, if you're kind of heading, jetting off to Belgium to kind of visit governmental
05:12officials and to launch your own charity campaign, it does get a little bit confusing.
05:18If you're not someone who's so obsessed with the royals like me and doesn't know every
05:23single bit of nitty gritty.
05:25Exactly.
05:26At any point in time.
05:26Then you're going to look at this and be like, oh, Kate and William are here.
05:30Harry and Meghan are there.
05:31Exactly.
05:32It's not going to mean any different.
05:33And that means that simply by association, what Harry and Meghan do will impact the royal
05:40family.
05:41That geographical distance between the UK and the US, as silly as it might sound, it really
05:48did help the royal family to kind of put up a bit of a barrier.
05:52Right.
05:52You know, because if Harry's rolling around Montecito wearing a pair of ripped jeans and
05:56a polo shirt, people don't really associate his necklaces and all that stuff.
06:00People don't really associate that with the royals.
06:02But when he and Meghan are stepping out in Belgium, he's wearing a suit and tie.
06:07She's wearing a very demure, royal-esque look.
06:10Once again, it really blurs the line between the royals and then the, I don't know, extradited.
06:17I don't know what they are.
06:18I know.
06:18They're like pseudo royals.
06:21And as you said, it's kind of blurring the lines and where are they going to go with
06:25this?
06:25But they're heading to Brussels next week and it is being framed as their first joint
06:31appearance, which is very royal-esque.
06:35Even just like the language of how they're going on this trip together and it's their
06:38first trip since moving back to the UK.
06:41They're going for a charity.
06:43It's all giving the same thing that they did when they were on the A-team and they chose
06:50to step away from the A-team and now they're like making their own team but doing the same
06:53things.
06:54Well, and the issue that I have to raise, I mean, it is a horrible subject to discuss,
06:58but obviously there have been some really, really significant and serious accusations
07:04levied against Meghan's dad, Thomas Markle Sr., not only by his own son, but also by other
07:10publications, by officials in the Philippines where he was previously living.
07:16Again, the closeness of Meghan and Harry to the royal family, and I should caveat this
07:22by saying this is the least concerning thing when it comes to child porn allegations, but
07:27Meghan and Harry's proximity to the royal family means that the royal family is automatically
07:33tainted by association when it comes to the allegations being made against Thomas.
07:39So, them now going on their first kind of pseudo-royal appearance overseas, it's not only since they
07:47moved back to the UK, but also since all of these allegations were aired, 99% sure that
07:53the majority of headlines will reference that scandal.
07:57Definitely.
07:57And it's just, you know, the royal family can't really afford another sexual misconduct scandal.
08:04Still, the Prince Andrew situation is still, sorry, former Prince Andrew situation, it's
08:09hard to break these habits.
08:11It is.
08:11Former Prince Andrew situation is still lingering, like a bad smell over the royal family.
08:17You throw the Thomas Markle nightmare into that, and it's kind of like any distance that
08:24they managed, the monarchy managed to get from Meghan and Harry has now gone.
08:28It's been eradicated.
08:29And it's hard too, because you can tell she's trying to distance herself from it, understandably,
08:34because she doesn't want to be part of it.
08:36And she has said in statements that she is horrified by the allegations.
08:42But at the same time, it is still her father.
08:45So, people are still paying attention and watching what is going to come from it and what might
08:49happen and what charges might come from it, if any, and how it plays out.
08:53She's still going to be at the center of it, and they're still going to be referenced as
08:58proceedings go along as to what they're also doing.
09:01And then she's, you know, managing this side of things with this part of her life being
09:07under scrutiny.
09:08And then she's also still, she still has, as ever, where she's just like, crazy stuff
09:13happening over here.
09:14The second part of my holiday line is launched.
09:16Right, right.
09:17Like, oh my God, hate my dad.
09:20Buy my honey.
09:21Right.
09:21It's, well, and I, you know, another thing I have to point out with regard to Meghan and
09:25Harry's return to the UK, with every passing day that goes by, that Harry doesn't spend
09:31time with Charles or William, it just, it's like, they're screaming, screaming through
09:37silence, you know?
09:39Right.
09:39They're basically like, we don't get along.
09:42Yes.
09:42You know, and it's more noticeable.
09:44100%.
09:44Obviously, we could all say, oh, California is so far away from the UK.
09:48Yeah.
09:49It is.
09:49We would all have trouble getting to and fro as well.
09:51But now that they are in very close proximity, it's kind of just waiting around like, okay,
09:56and at what point do you see your family when you live in the same area as them?
10:00Closer, at least.
10:01You're speaking as a Brit.
10:03The Cotswolds, where Meghan and Harry are, and Windsor, where William and Kate are, not
10:07that far apart.
10:08They're really not.
10:09Eton is even closer.
10:10Actually, that's a lie.
10:11Don't quote me because my geography is actually terrible, but it's an hour and a half in the
10:17car, you know?
10:18It's really not difficult.
10:20And, you know, to add insult to injury, if you will, William and Harry made even more
10:26painfully clear how much their rift is still very much in place when they honoured their
10:33mother, Princess Diana, by writing letters to the latest recipients of an award that is
10:39given out as part of a charitable program named for Diana.
10:44And, you know, a lot of the headlines were kind of like, oh, William and Harry come together.
10:48And then I read the specifics.
10:51Right.
10:51And no, they didn't.
10:52They sent separate letters.
10:54Right.
10:55It's so awkward.
10:56It would be like, I got married in September.
10:58It would be like if I sent my thank you cards and then my husband sent his thank you cards.
11:02First of all, it's a lot of additional writing to do.
11:05Second of all, it's weird.
11:07Very weird.
11:08You know?
11:09Very weird.
11:09And it, like you said, makes the rift seem even more noticeable and even more distant from
11:16each other because you can't come together on one note to these winners or even have
11:20any kind of joint accept or, you know, like appreciation for these people that you, like,
11:27you're giving us this idea and concept that you are deeply part of your mother's charity,
11:32that they have all, and they have always been part of it.
11:36They've spoken at the award ceremony individually, in recent years individually.
11:41But now it's like, you can't even come together and say honoring our mother is so important
11:46and what you're doing is so important and what you're doing would have been important
11:49to her.
11:49It's like, I'll say this and I'll say this.
11:51Well, that's the thing.
11:52It's like what that even says to me is that they can't even bear to speak through their
11:57aides.
11:57Right.
11:58You know, because I think all it, all it would have taken is, you know, the people who work
12:04for them mock up a letter, et cetera, et cetera.
12:07And I'm just imagining very much in my brain.
12:10I don't know that this happened, but I am imagining like whose name comes first, whose
12:14signature is bigger, who makes the most touching reference to their mother.
12:19I think the issue is, is that everyone who is in either of their inner circles knows that
12:25any kind of conversation like that is just going to lead to arguments, upset.
12:31And so they don't even bother.
12:33That's kind of what this says to me is, you know, this isn't a case of like, oh, we couldn't
12:39agree on what was the right thing to say in a joint statement.
12:42What this says to me is that they were like, oh, we're not even going to bother trying.
12:45Yeah.
12:46Because we know that it's not going to be possible.
12:48Right.
12:48It's not going to be possible.
12:50And then what happens when they do have to appear at the same thing?
12:53I mean, eventually you would think we would come to a moment in time where like the king's
13:00birthday, what are they going to do?
13:01They're not going to see each other.
13:02They're not going to be invited.
13:04Previously, it was like, oh, he was invited, but they couldn't make it.
13:07Well, we believed that when they were in California.
13:08I don't know if I'm going to believe that anymore.
13:09You couldn't make your weekend free.
13:11Right.
13:11And we already know that they're making their own Christmas plans because they are not going
13:14to be invited to the royal family is kind of big annual Christmas gathering.
13:18Do you think they'll go to the church for the mass?
13:20Not at all.
13:20No, I don't think they'll be invited because that, yes.
13:24And again, we get to that kind of really difficult balance between the royal family is a family,
13:29but the royal family is a business.
13:31It's not called the firm for nothing.
13:33Right.
13:33So we get to that really tricky territory of like, yes, that outing to the church is a
13:41family occasion.
13:43But Andrew was ousted from it and rightly so.
13:46And I think, you know, the royal family, in my opinion, I don't want any family to be broken.
13:52I think it is awful that William and Harry are in the position that they are in now.
13:57Right.
13:58But I think the royal family has to really draw the line.
14:01They cannot have, you know, it goes back to the first days after Megxit.
14:06We heard that it was the queen who said, you're either in or you're out.
14:10There's no half in, half out.
14:11Can't have your cake and eat it too.
14:13And I think that that same ethos really needs to be carried forward.
14:17You're either with us or you're not.
14:20You know, it's like if you have a family business that you're running, great.
14:24Okay, if you don't want to work for us, you can't be in the board meetings.
14:28That's kind of where we're at.
14:30So, no, I would be very, very surprised if they are there.
14:35And if they're hoping to be, they better be putting in some serious grift in the next few weeks.
14:40Because from what I've seen, there has been no opening of arms to welcome them back.
14:48I think it's been more of a slamming of the door, to be completely honest.
14:51And even their move back to many was such a surprise because it didn't really seem like they gave any
14:57hints that they were looking to go back to the UK.
15:01In fact, they made it seem very certain that they would not be going back there and that Harry was
15:05loving California and their kids were growing up in their beautiful home there, which they still have.
15:10But now it seems like they're doubling down on staying in the UK because they just moved into one of
15:16their pals' house.
15:17They were on their property, in their guest home of some sort.
15:20So, they were living in one, I mean, you know, this is a very wealthy pal.
15:25If you come and hang at my house, Meghan and Harry, at best, you're getting an air mattress in the
15:29spare room.
15:30Right.
15:31But this is obviously a very wealthy friend who has, you know, an estate rather than a house.
15:37They were living in one property on the estate and they have now recently moved into another property on the
15:44estate.
15:45This is also interesting to me because I think if it suggests that the move back was slightly unplanned.
15:56Right.
15:56And a bit hasty.
15:58I was going to say hasty, sort of on a whim feeling.
16:00You know, because I think, especially when you have two young children who are in school, you don't really want
16:04to be living out of boxes.
16:05We've all done it, but that's not really what you, this is not your vibe.
16:09And changing their school sort of abruptly.
16:12Yeah.
16:13They're not really little tiny babies anymore.
16:16They're older.
16:16They're in school.
16:17They probably have an established group of friends.
16:21And now they're...
16:22Imagine having to be the new kid at school twice in the same year.
16:24That is just awful.
16:26Right.
16:26Really awful.
16:27It's really difficult to say.
16:29I don't, you know, it's like when you ask a political pundit to predict the election,
16:32they're kind of like, oh, I like to be on the fence so that I don't get it wrong.
16:35It would be very surprising to me if they stay in the UK forever.
16:42Oh, okay.
16:44The way that I keep describing it to people who ask, I think they are back there to recharge their
16:49royal battery.
16:50Oh.
16:51Remind, you know, I think they had kind of run out of like royal goodwill in California.
16:55I think people were like, oh, well, now you're Hollywood.
16:57You're not really royals anymore.
16:58So they were like, oh, balls.
17:01We better get back to the UK.
17:02Remind people of who we are, who we want to be.
17:05And then, you know, when they have a bit more material, they'll head back to California.
17:10Chances are they're already writing another book.
17:13Our rough journey home, you know, the path to forgiveness or whatever.
17:17Really wouldn't surprise me whatsoever.
17:19But I think...
17:20You are always giving them ideas.
17:22Every time.
17:22This is a great idea, actually.
17:24If Megan, Harry, if that is the title of your new book.
17:27That's what you're on.
17:28We're going to have words.
17:29TM, copyright, whatever.
17:32But I think that the future for both of them right now is hazy.
17:39And I think that they will kind of continue to work on the projects that they know are working.
17:47So as ever, while it might not have broken the internet, the products are selling.
17:53So that's something.
17:54Obviously, Archwell, the charitable arm of Archwell, which, you know, is partly why they're going to Belgium.
18:03But when it comes to the kind of production side of Archwell, they just lost another staff member who was
18:09working on the non-fiction side of things.
18:11Right.
18:12And she had been there from the beginning.
18:13And, you know, I think that this just kind of shows there really is a lack of forward progress as
18:21far as those kind of Hollywood projects are concerned.
18:25And, you know, if they are able to be in the UK and work on the projects that are actually,
18:31you know, still going, then great.
18:34If they can do that while they're establishing more credibility as kind of pseudo members of the royal family, great.
18:41But I think that, you know, the coverage of them is going to be a problem for the royal family
18:48moving forward.
18:49And I think the royals are going to have to be very strict, stern, if you will, about where their
18:55line in the sand is.
18:56Do you think we could ever see them come together at an event in the next, let's say, year?
19:02I would love if we could reach a stage where Trooping of the Colour in June, Harry and Meghan are
19:09welcomed, even if they aren't on the balcony.
19:11Harry, Meghan, Archie, Lilibet.
19:14It would be so nice if they could be there.
19:17Because at this point, I don't think there is any way back for them as working members of the royal
19:24family.
19:25Too much has been said, too much has been done for anyone to forget.
19:31But it would be really nice if they could at least be welcomed back from the familial side of things.
19:37You know, if they can.
19:38And I want that for Archie, Lilibet and, you know, William and Kate's children.
19:43I think it's awful that they might never have a relationship with their cousins, especially now that they're all living
19:49so close.
19:50Yes. It is interesting, too, to think about it from the standpoint of how old the kids all are now.
19:56Were they telling them they hadn't met each other because of how far away they lived?
20:00I mean, I would hope that they would be able to meet now that they're in the UK.
20:04Because if I'm Charlotte, I'm understanding that I have not met two of my cousins at this point in time.
20:11George is, you know, George is now at, you know, kind of proper school, if you will.
20:17He's a teenager.
20:19He was actually looking quite trendy when he went to a soccer game with his dad recently.
20:26He's on, you know, a break from school.
20:28He wasn't playing hooky.
20:30And, you know, gone was the kind of smart suit.
20:33He was wearing like a track suit top.
20:34He looked, yeah, trendy Wendy.
20:36I was very impressed.
20:37Me too.
20:38Is he Gen Z or is he Gen?
20:39Yeah, he is, right?
20:4013.
20:41Oh, don't ask me that.
20:42I have no idea.
20:43He's a youth.
20:44He's like Gen Z, Gen Alpha.
20:45Look, I've reached the age now where I'm like anyone under the age of 30 is a youth, okay?
20:49So I lump them all into the same bracket, regardless of their generation.
20:53But I think William and Kate have done a really wonderful job of kind of towing the line between
20:59George, you will one day be king.
21:01But George, you are also a young man, a young boy.
21:05And the same with all of their children.
21:06So I do believe that William and Kate will have had appropriately honest conversations
21:13with them.
21:14And it also wouldn't surprise me if, you know, for example, William and Kate have had George,
21:19Charlotte and Louis write a Christmas card to Archie and Lilibet and vice versa.
21:23Because I think that one, the one thing that would encourage William to put aside his pride
21:30and his anger is his children.
21:33So fingers crossed that that is the way forward for both brothers, kind of understanding that
21:40while they might never again be the best of friends, while they might never again be brothers
21:45in the way that they once were, it would be nice if they could at least be cordial to one
21:50another
21:51so that the children have an opportunity to forge their own relationships and to make up their own minds.
21:56Yeah, I do feel like I could see a role too where Meghan and Harry come back to the States
22:01for the holidays, and maybe they'll use Thanksgiving as their plug.
22:06Like, okay, we're going to come.
22:07But wait, actually, the kids will be in school.
22:09Mm hmm.
22:10Oh, we do not get Thanksgiving off the plot in the UK.
22:13I hate to tell you, because I have actually grown to love Turkey Day.
22:17But no one in the UK celebrates it, marks it.
22:20Sorry, no British people living in the UK really do anything about it.
22:24They wouldn't have school because they're in a British school.
22:26Absolutely.
22:27So they wouldn't have the time off.
22:28Yeah.
22:28Oh, interesting.
22:29So we have, in the next few weeks, a lot to look out for from this family.
22:33Yes, we do.
22:33I mean, I think we're all anticipating Meghan's as ever.
22:37Here's how I cook a turkey using, you know, powdered gold or whatever.
22:41I personally can't wait.
22:42But yeah, I think this is always a very telling time of year for any family disputes, if that's
22:50the right way of framing it.
22:52So I think that the holidays, Thanksgiving, I think we will learn a lot.
22:56And I also think that Meghan and Harry's appearance in Belgium will give us a lot of insight into
23:02kind of their plans for the future.
23:04I think so, too.
23:05And they do seem to be stepping back into that, trying to look like a couple who make these
23:12appearances together in just the most recent weeks.
23:16They've even done a few things here and there to make it seem that way.
23:21So it'll be very interesting to see where they go from here and how much more we get of them
23:25together on these joint appearances.
23:28Well, as ever, we'll be watching.
23:30As ever, we'll be watching.
23:32The holidays, we'll be watching.
23:34And page six will have it all covered.
