00:00Morning. Here's a fun Friday fact for you. Did you know that mist and fog is more likely at this
00:06time of year?
00:07It's because of the bonfires and the fireworks putting more particulates into the atmosphere,
00:13giving something for the water droplets to lock onto.
00:16And misty and murky conditions certainly prevalent through this morning,
00:20staying pretty drab for many through the day today.
00:22There's some rain and drizzle here and there, but nothing too heavy.
00:25Many places staying dry. It might brighten up in a few spots, particularly, I think, western Scotland doing OK for
00:31sunshine,
00:32but cheering up a little in parts of the southwest, but equally here, one or two heavier showers in parts
00:37of Devon in particular.
00:39Elsewhere, as I said, any rain fairly light, fairly patchy, but a dank and drizzly day for many.
00:44The winds in the east in particular, quite a bit lighter than they have been.
00:48So perhaps not feeling quite as cold on the east coast, but still where it's dull, where it's grey,
00:53it is going to be a bit of a struggle to get above double digits, 10 to 12 Celsius, I
00:58think, at best, through this afternoon.
01:01As we go through this evening, well, it shouldn't turn too chilly because we'll keep a lot of cloud.
01:06There'll be some rain and drizzle here and there, which may dampen the odd firework display.
01:10But again, for most places, just going to be a bit murky, a bit misty, but many areas will be
01:16dry.
01:16Some clearer spells perhaps developing in parts of Wales and southwest England and again western Scotland.
01:21But elsewhere, that cloud thickening, some more persistent drizzly rain, perhaps over northwest England,
01:26maybe spreading into southwest Scotland and northern Ireland as we go through the night.
01:30So again, something of a drab, misty, murky start to Saturday morning, but not especially cold.
01:36Where we get some breaks, a colder night, parts of Wales and southwest England dipping more down to low single
01:44figures perhaps.
01:45But most places, again, on Saturday will be pretty overcast, pretty gloomy, some drizzly conditions, again, for parts of northern
01:52Ireland, northern England, southern Scotland.
01:54One or two showers, possible in the south, but maybe also here's some longer breaks in the cloud and a
01:59bit more in the way of sunny spells.
02:01Still a bit of a breeze coming into eastern Scotland.
02:04So still cloudier here with some light drizzly showers, mostly over high ground.
02:08Again, many places just dry, drab.
02:10And on the chilly side, temperatures, again, only 10, 11, 12 Celsius.
02:15And where it does stay particularly gloomy, we may not even get into double figures.
02:20So yes, a bit of a glum start to the weekends.
