00:00Hi everybody, my name is Karla and I take care of the bighorn sheep here at the San
00:05Diego Zoo Safari Park.
00:07And this morning we're going to go visit a couple of lambs.
00:17These two little bighorn sheep lambs are only two and three weeks old and they are having
00:23a blast in their exhibit.
00:29Their color is going to change.
00:32They're born dark so they can camouflage in the rocks, but as time goes on and the desert
00:38gets hotter, they need a lighter color so they're turning into a light beige.
00:45Bighorn sheep, both the girls and the boys have horns, however, the girls' horns are short
00:52and stay short.
00:53Male horns continue to grow and at about seven, eight years old they will grow so much that
01:00they will turn a complete circle and they can weigh up to 20 pounds.
01:12We are very, very fortunate to have them here at the Safari Park and to have babies every
01:18year.
01:19.
