00:07Hi John, for me was a big pleasure, I have the opportunity to interview you.
00:13So, start with 2026, super bike race, more than 30 years of racing, more than 150, and still in top
00:235.
00:24That's amazing.
00:26Yeah, it was really good, it was a good race, you know, the race was solid, I was confident with
00:33the bike, always confident with the team, I was riding pretty good.
00:38We had personal best lap times in testing in Spain, Monte Blanco, Andalusia, personal best lap times in Donington, Alton
00:45Park, so yeah, I just saw it fast at the north-west.
00:50But it was, you know, you have to be consistent, you have to be strong at the start, two good
00:54pit stops, and yeah, to, yeah, to, you know, to dig out of fifth place was good.
01:00And the guys in front of me, they're better than me now, they're just, so yeah, I felt dead proud
01:08of it.
01:08I was in the 30th anniversary of colors, we did the replica, replica bike, and I was, yeah, it was
01:16a great, great event, great race for me.
01:1930 years of racing, with a special livery, so, what have, what changed the bike in these 30 years of
01:29racing?
01:29I think, I think, for the, from the first time, in 250cc, two stroke, now with the super bike, 30
01:36years later, more than 200 horsepower.
01:39Oh, so, so many differences, uh, you know, the track is still the same, the circuit is still the same,
01:48the same, uh, trees, lamppos, uh, bankings, walls, everything,
01:55and the curbs are still the same, but the, you know, the paddock's changing a little bit, there's more social
02:02media, more awareness of it, there's more trucks, you know, but the bikes are a big difference, you know,
02:07when I first started, it was a 250, two stroke, you know, carburettors, you know, you have to feel the
02:13bike, you feel the weather, you know, you have to check the bike accordingly to the conditions,
02:18and, you know, then I went on to four strokes, 600 four stroke, 400 V4s, Hondas, Kawasaki, no, no, not
02:26Kawasaki, no, Honda, Yamaha, Triumph, Ducati, V-Twins, V4s, you know, two.
02:36We see a few days ago the 2027 Fireblade, the bike where you're, uh, using, uh, 2027, so, what's your
02:45feeling about the new bike?
02:47I'm feeling really happy, uh, buzzing, you know, uh, a new, any new model is, you know, for me, super
02:54exciting, uh, you know, we've, we've been doing well with the 24-5-6 Fireblade,
02:59been strong on the roads, and strong in BSB, so, yeah, and the new bike's got a lot, quite a
03:04lot of changes, uh, first time I've seen it, uh, can't wait to test it, can't get to get, you
03:11know, involved in the project, uh, we have a couple of bikes at the workshop back in England,
03:14so, uh, we get to test the bike early next year, so, uh, you know, we're looking, I love the
03:20fact they were all, all the manufacturers, really, are still pushing, you know, innovating, uh, trying to find something different,
03:27uh,
03:27and, uh, it's got a lot of changes, so, we've got a lot of work to do, but I'm looking
03:31forward to, uh, getting my teeth into the project, you know.
03:35If you had to choose one, the 223, uh, TT, you win, you won, what's your, your, your preference, your
03:44favorite?
03:45It's really difficult to pick one, uh, first win's always special, but it's a bit, you don't know what to
03:51do, you cross the line, you're like, what's happened?
03:55So, that was special, but my 07, 2007, centenary, I think it was just a lineup of things, you know,
04:02it was the first ever 130 miles an hour average lap.
04:06It was a centenary TT, 100 years of TT, the weather was good, there's so many fans, all the right
04:12people was there around me, there, there was a little bit of pressure on, on everybody to do the 130
04:19mile an hour lap,
04:19and I, I was the one that did it, and I only did it once on one lap, so, and
04:23that feeling going around the circuit on the lap, on lap three, because I did the 130 lap, everybody was
04:29really cheering,
04:29and on the last lap, everybody was really cheering around, so, yeah, it's, it's ingrained in my brain, and I'll
04:35never forget that feeling, so, yeah, I would, I would say 07, senior TT, yeah.
