00:00I spotted a pair of bright yellow eyes looking right back at me.
00:03This owl is literally playing a game of tag with his rescuer.
00:06And he's winning.
00:08Bridget at Cottontail Cottage Wildlife got the call about this injured owl.
00:12There he was, blending right into the tree.
00:15The owl was not very happy to see me, if I'm being quite honest.
00:18He was telling me to back off.
00:20I mean, come on. Did you guys see those eyes?
00:23But Bridget was unfazed.
00:24She knew exactly what she had to do to help him.
00:27He was hopping around quite a bit.
00:28One of his wings was drooping down a little bit and did look a little bit damaged.
00:34Once I got my net underneath him and he jumped in, it was actually quite easy to catch him.
00:38He was in the net.
00:39And at that point, he had kind of given up and said, okay, you can take me with you.
00:44Okay, so be careful.
00:45Let's get him on his back.
00:48Now all they had to do was assess his injury and get this cranky owl back into shape.
00:55Let me go get the box.
00:56Keep hold of him.
01:01Okay, ready?
01:05Yeah, a little bit on the back end.
01:08Hey, Meta, record.
01:09It's his foot.
01:10Oh, there you go.
01:11You got it.
01:16It's only five feet of smell.
01:18Once the owl got over to Green Chimneys, Dave, the bird rehabber there, did an amazing job taking care of
01:24his wing injury.
01:25He texted me about a month later to tell me, hey, he's ready to go.
01:29Do you want to come and release him tonight?
01:30There was no way she was going to miss it.
01:33I always love being there on release day.
01:41I was so glad to see him fly off just a little while later and be able to be home
01:46again back where he belonged.
01:47Well, but you better see him.
01:48Bye.
01:49Bye.
01:49Bye.
01:50Bye.
01:51Bye.
01:51Bye.
01:52Bye.
01:53Bye.
01:56Bye.
01:57You
