Simon and Emma plot to destroy Olivia: at a masquerade, they slip her an aphrodisiac and arrange a homeless man to assault her. But Raymond—hiding behind a mask while dodging gunmen—stumbles in and saves her. The two share a fiery night.
When the scheme fails, Simon and Emma plan to humiliate Olivia at a family banquet—only for Raymond to return home, and nothing happens. Olivia spots the birthmark on Raymond's body and realizes with horror that she slept with her uncle-in-law.
