00:01Negeri Sembilan UMNO Chief Datuk Sri Jalaluddin Alias has dismissed claims of a split within
00:07the State Party, insisting that all its assemblymen remain united in supporting Menteri Besar
00:13Datuk Ismail Lasim.
00:14Speaking after a meeting with Barisan National Assemblymen and UMNO Division Chiefs on Saturday,
00:20Jalaluddin denied claims that the State Chapter was divided into three factions aligned with
00:25him, Ismail, and Lenggeng Assemblymen Datuk Muhammad Asnah Amin.
00:30He said all Barisan Assemblymen had reaffirmed their support for Ismail and pledged to fulfill
00:35their responsibilities in line with the mandate given to Barisan and Perikatan National in the
00:40August 1st state election.
00:43Jalaluddin also urged an end to attempts to sow discord within UMNO.
00:48On his recent audience with Yang Di-Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muris Tuanku Munawir, Jalaluddin
00:53described it as a routine meeting.
00:55He stressed that UMNO's decision to withdraw support for former Menteri Besar Datuk Seri
01:00Aminuddin Harun in April, which led to the collapse of the state government, was never intended
01:05to challenge Tuanku Muris' position.
01:08He said the move had been misinterpreted, adding that UMNO's intention was to strengthen
01:13governance without interfering in the royal institution or traditional customs.
01:18Asked about a meeting between two Perikatan Assemblymen and Tunku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Ja'afar
01:24at Istana Serting on November 6th, Jalaluddin said he was unaware of it.
01:29Paroy Assemblymen Kamarul Rivzuan Muhammad Zain and Klawang Assemblymen Dani Rais had described
01:35the meeting as a courtesy call.
01:36On June 5th, four undang, three of whose positions are disputed, proclaim Tunku Nadzaruddin
01:43as the new Yang Di-Pertuan Besar.
01:45However, the Attorney General's chambers and the Negeri Sembilan Dewan Keadilan dan Undang
01:50have maintained that the proclamation has no legal effect, recognizing Tuanku Muris as
01:56the state's sole lawful Yang Di-Pertuan Besar.
