00:00Reflecting on the double super over, captain of the Brawling Vikings, Andrew Rambaran, was pleased with the win.
00:07125 all out, did you think that was a winning score?
00:11It wasn't, no. We were looking at around 150, 160.
00:14But you know, falling short, we know we had the bowlers that are capable of defending any score.
00:18We have an all-round team, so it was good to see the bowlers come up as well.
00:22And yeah, we did a good job.
00:23He felt it was possible to chase 27 runs in the second over, but it did not go their way.
00:2811 runs in a super over is obviously, you know, it's a good score to have.
00:33Yeah, I mean, we have batsmen that could score any motor runs in any over,
00:37so it was good to see that we could have at least chase the score and have it to another
00:41super over.
00:42And then both teams level again, you have to go again. What were your thoughts at that point?
00:47Yeah, I mean, you know, with the second super over, having Toppin scoring 27 in the over, that was a
00:51big, big plus.
00:53Just having, you know, a team as well, you know, with all the experience that he has, you know, it's
00:56good for us.
00:56And yeah, having 27 in the over has made it a lot easier as a bowler to come and just
01:00defend the score.
01:01His opposite number was also happy to be part of the double super over.
01:05Coming up against the best team in the tournament for us in our group, I mean, it was a hard
01:10fight.
01:11But honestly speaking, I think we did a fabulous job.
01:15I mean, bowlers hitting good line and lengths, you know, setting our plan, achieving the plan.
01:21So, I mean, all in all, we were satisfied with our team effort in the bowling department.
01:27So, I mean, tough luck on our end, but we were more or less satisfied with our performance.
01:32He felt it was possible to chase 27 runs in the second over, but it did not go their way.
01:3827 runs still. Do you think one player could have done it?
01:43At that stage of the game, you know, we just had to be confident.
01:46We had to think about the positives and not the negatives.
01:48So, we had to go out there with the mindset that, yes, we could have gotten it.
01:52But, I mean, the other team did a fantastic job at keeping us down.
01:57I think it was 12 or 13 runs. So, kudos to them and tough luck for us.
02:01The man who won the match for the brawling Vikings, Abdul Raheem Toppin,
02:06who also played for the Trinbago Knight Riders in the CPL,
02:09was all too eager to come to the party for his team.
02:13All right, 27 runs in super over. How do you feel about that?
02:17It's a good feeling. When you're training and you're working hard and then you go in the game and you
02:22execute,
02:23it's been nice to execute.
02:24Did you feel pressure coming into that moment?
02:27No, not really. I think the bowlers will be under more pressure in the super over.
02:32Just about, once it's in my area, just executing because I know I'm strong enough to clear the ropes
02:37and it's just about meddling the ball as much as possible.
02:40He will be back again tonight as the Vikings face the TNT youngsters.
02:45Their captain, Justin Jagasa, is ready for the challenge.
02:48It was a bit fascinating to watch. Probably first time I've seen it locally.
02:54I saw it in the IPL before, but it was really exciting to watch.
02:57How do you intend to approach this team?
02:59I mean, it's a strong side, but cricket does play on the day,
03:03so just looking to take it step by step, warm up, whatever bat, bowling first,
03:09take it over by over, keep it simple.
03:11If the youngsters win tonight against the Vikings,
03:14it would be their second win after three matches.
