This time on Tehran with Shakiba, Shakiba heads to Tehran Book Garden, one of the city's most exciting cultural spots, to explore its colorful world of books, fun spaces, and activities for young people.
Transcript
00:00Nestled in the Abbasabad hills and in the middle of roads where people pass to go to work,
00:08you'd never guess you'd find one of the biggest cultural buildings in Tehran.
00:12Welcome back everyone, I'm Shaki Ba and today our destination is Baag-e-Kitab.
00:44Now this was one of the first destinations of the actual building which is the Adults and Teenagers Bookstore.
00:51The unique thing about this place is that they actually translate books from Persian to other
00:58languages. One of the most famous examples is the Tales of Majid which is a very popular series in Iran.
01:13This is a statue from the book I showed in the Adults and Teens section,
01:19which was the Tales of Majid and it has its own statue in the Children's section.
01:34This place has so many, so many cute books with cuter art styles. It has a lot of mascots around.
01:46Then we reach my favorite section which is the Astronomy section. This little nook
01:56in the bookstore has this wall, has a ceiling of stars and over here all these are either
02:06books about astronomy or biology, just science.
02:32I just saw that she's also reading a Daddy Long Legs book and look, I just saw this. Hold on.
02:39I don't know. Daddy Long Legs. And that concludes today's destination in Tehran.
02:46Again, I really hope I did this place justice because this place is massive and a three-minute
02:53clip is not enough to show its entirety. But I hope I can see you all in the next episode.
02:59Goodbye.
03:00There you go.
03:03So
03:03You
