00:00Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most shocking controversies that originated from reality
00:07TV dating shows.
00:09Did you guys talk at all before the show?
00:11Not one bit, not one word, I swear on my dad's grave, not one single word, not one single contact.
00:17Number 20, Jax exits the show, Love is Blind.
00:21Did like, Jax dump me yet?
00:25I was kind of in like, she might actually have left me.
00:28Like, there's a 50% chance she left at that point.
00:32The upside with you is like, he's never been in love, so I'm like, if you say it, you mean
00:36it, and like, that's it.
00:38Netflix's Love is Blind is built around the idea of getting engaged before ever seeing your partner,
00:43which can make those first face-to-face meetings pretty awkward.
00:47But Jax and Stu's season 11 reveal took an especially uncomfortable turn.
00:52Are you willing to be my lawfully wedded wife?
01:03Sure, why not?
01:04Oh, come on, Jax!
01:06The pair seemed to form a genuine connection in the pods,
01:09and Jax accepted Stu's proposal despite reservations about his admission that he'd never been in love before.
01:16Once they finally met, however, her doubts only grew,
01:19and the physical attraction appeared decidedly one-sided.
01:23Do you know the guy's nickname for me, on the other side?
01:25No.
01:26They all call me Kennedy.
01:29Oh my god.
01:30Jackie Kennedy, baby.
01:34Please.
01:34More like Mitt Romney.
01:36Jax ultimately chose to exit the experiment without telling Stu directly,
01:40leaving producers to break the news to him.
01:42Her decision drew criticism from viewers who felt he deserved to hear it from her.
01:46So are we still engaged?
01:48Or did she dump me?
01:51That's really for you to figure out.
01:54She has left us.
01:55She has left love as blind?
01:57Yeah.
01:58She gives like a number to call or something?
02:00Roses are red.
02:01These love stories went south.
02:03But on the Ms. Mojo 24-7 livestream,
02:06there's plenty more pop culture to talk about.
02:09Scan the QR code on your screen to join.
02:11Wow.
02:13I guess the feelings were not mutual.
02:15Number 19, Lucy Donlan's microaggressions.
02:19Love Island.
02:20Girls are drama.
02:21They like to just pump up it, make it worse, make it really bad,
02:26make it out worse than it is, and it's not.
02:28When you go to a guy for a guy's advice,
02:30he's straight to the point and says it how it is.
02:32Names matter.
02:33That was the heart of a controversy that unfolded during Love Island's fifth series.
02:38Yuande Biala revealed that Lucy Donlan repeatedly mispronounced her first name,
02:42even after being corrected, and suggested Biala simply go by Y for convenience.
02:48Biala later described it as racialized renaming,
02:51explaining that being pushed to shorten or alter your name for someone else's comfort
02:55can feel deeply dismissive of your identity.
02:57And we want you to be closer, and we want you to be involved, like,
03:02I don't know what more I have to, like, do.
03:05You don't have to do anything.
03:06The situation resurfaced in January 2021,
03:09when Donlan reportedly accused Biala of attacking her in an Instagram comment.
03:13Biala responded publicly,
03:15and fellow Islanders Amber Gill and Amy Hart backed her account.
03:20Donlan maintained the nickname was a term of endearment, not malice,
03:24and she said she received death threats amid the backlash.
03:27I thought it was fine yesterday, but I was shocked today they got brought up again.
03:31To the new girls.
03:33Number 18.
03:34The Undercover Journalist.
03:36Blind Date.
03:37Deception on a dating show usually comes from contestants hiding their feelings.
03:42This time, someone hid their entire identity.
03:45Now, Nicola, tell our boys, and indeed everybody out there, what do you do?
03:49I'm a tent, but I save my money to go traveling around the world and surfing.
03:53Nicola Gill appeared on the British series Blind Date,
03:56claiming to be a temporary secretary,
03:59when she was actually a Cosmopolitan journalist documenting the entire experience for a story.
04:04When host Scylla Black and the production team uncovered her true profession,
04:09Black called her out on air.
04:11The studio audience responded with audible booing.
04:14I know for a fact that you actually, you're an undercover journalist,
04:17and you've robbed somebody of coming on a proper blind date.
04:20You work for Cosmopolitan magazine.
04:23She's a journalist, ladies and gentlemen, not a blind date at all.
04:26But it got worse.
04:27When Black asked Gill whether she was currently dating, she denied it.
04:31And a lower third graphic promptly revealed she was engaged to be married that June.
04:36Tell us the truth. Have you got a boyfriend?
04:39No.
04:39You haven't?
04:40Any children?
04:41No.
04:43I'm just asking.
04:45The man originally paired with Gill was invited back for a second appearance,
04:48with Black personally apologizing before he selected from three new genuine contestants.
04:54You've treated one of those lovely girls out of a proper blind date.
04:57How does that make you feel?
05:02The look says it all.
05:03I can't, well, what can I say?
05:05I'm sorry if that's the case.
05:06And I feel sorry because I would like Paul to go to Nepal.
05:09He's a really nice guy.
05:10Number 17.
05:11Claire blows up the show.
05:13The Bachelorette.
05:14I'm a woman that knows what I want, and I follow my gut.
05:17I can pick my husband out the second I meet him.
05:21So I'm ready to get the night started.
05:23I've waited long enough.
05:26Season 16 of The Bachelorette was supposed to be Claire Crawley's long-awaited shot at love.
05:30What nobody anticipated was how quickly she'd find it,
05:33or what that would cost the entire production.
05:36Did you say you think you may have just met your husband?
05:39Yeah.
05:41Every other guy I felt confident with.
05:43But with Dale, everything else went dark around me.
05:48I don't even know what I just said.
05:49Did I sound okay?
05:50Did I say anything at all?
05:51Within weeks of filming, Crawley became so focused on contestant Dale Moss
05:56that the other men were effectively an afterthought.
05:59Host Chris Harrison famously told her that she had broken the show's formula.
06:03So in your mind right now, is this over?
06:09Yeah.
06:10Okay.
06:12Okay.
06:14Congratulations, you've just blown up The Bachelorette.
06:17Crawley and Moss became engaged after only a few weeks,
06:20and Tayshia Adams took over as The Bachelorette,
06:23so filming could continue with the remaining contestants.
06:25Crawley and Moss' relationship later ended.
06:28In October 2021, Crawley alleged that producers had actually been orchestrating
06:33her early departure all along,
06:35and that she felt she had no real choice in the matter.
06:38Like, I had seen Tayshia before there was even discussion of
06:42Tayshia being there, or swapping out, or Claire leaving.
06:45I had seen Tayshia on the property.
06:48So, that was the first one.
06:50Number 16.
06:52Sexual Assault Allegations.
06:54Married at First Sight, UK.
06:55In May 2026, a BBC Panorama investigation revealed allegations
07:00from three former Married at First Sight UK contestants,
07:04each describing serious sexual misconduct by their on-screen partners.
07:08All three women featured in the documentary say not enough was done to protect them.
07:13CPL Productions, which makes the show for Channel 4,
07:16said its welfare provision was gold standard,
07:18and that it, too, had acted appropriately.
07:20One woman alleged that her on-screen husband sexually assaulted her
07:24and threatened her with an acid attack.
07:26A second said she had reported a sexual assault incident
07:29by her on-screen partner to Channel 4 directly.
07:32Yet the episodes aired regardless.
07:35The third alleged victim also described a non-consensual sexual act.
07:39The reason that I say that is because she described being scared
07:43about reporting this, whether to the police or others,
07:46because he threatened allegedly to throw acid in her face.
07:50Former contestant Shona Manderson, the only one who wanted to be identified,
07:55accused her on-screen husband, Bradley Skelly, of sexual misconduct,
07:59allegations he has since denied.
08:01Channel 4 responded by removing all episodes from streaming
08:04and linear broadcasts, and took down the show's social media channels.
08:09So I felt like there were warnings for his behavior,
08:12his choices for other things, but not for his behavior towards me.
08:15And in that environment, it made me feel really alone.
08:18Like, am I actually seeing and experiencing what I feel like I am?
08:22And I wasn't in a position to advocate for myself at the time.
08:25Number 15, labor violations lawsuit.
08:28Love is blind.
08:29We actually were first set up in these really small living quarters
08:34in, like, a tiny little trailer.
08:36You know, it was cold.
08:37It was dark.
08:38The sleep deprivation was honestly terrible.
08:42People should know what they're getting themselves into.
08:44The drama on Love is Blind isn't always limited to the contestants' relationships.
08:48In 2022, season two participant Jeremy Hartwell filed a lawsuit against Netflix
08:53and associated production companies alleging serious labor law violations.
08:58His claims included inadequate compensation and conditions he described as inhumane,
09:03such as contestants reportedly having restricted access to food, water, and sleep while filming.
09:08Four hours of sleep a night, the food deprivation, false imprisonment,
09:13which was a term my attorney brought up when I discussed the situation.
09:16And it's just, to me, having gone through that and experienced that,
09:21and then talking to all of my fellow castmates who all basically shared the same experience
09:26and reiterated what I said, it struck me as, like, how can this be legal?
09:31The suit brought attention to the conditions behind a show built around emotional vulnerability,
09:36including how much control participants actually have while filming.
09:40The case eventually settled for nearly $1.4 million to be shared among about 144 former cast and crew members.
09:48When you unionize as employees, you collectively have the ability to negotiate for better pay,
09:53work condition, and benefits.
09:55Right now, that's not an opportunity for people who are working within this industry.
09:59So it can change the way, especially big or larger names, reality stars,
10:04are incorporating their services into big budget productions.
10:08Number 14. Contestants' Use of Racial Slurs.
10:12Love Island, USA.
10:13I'm Yulisa. I'm 27. I own a mobile bar on wheels, and I live in Miami, Florida.
10:19I am 4'10", which, technically speaking, I can't get a handicap sticker, but I'm not going to do that.
10:25The seventh season of Love Island, USA faced controversy almost as soon as it began,
10:30when contestant Yulisa Escobar was removed from the villa.
10:34Podcast clips surfaced online, showing Escobar using racial slurs, prompting swift backlash.
10:40In the second episode, narrator Ian Sterling announced her departure without explaining the circumstances on screen.
10:47Welcome back to Love Island, USA.
10:50Yulisa has left the villa.
10:51The islanders are waking up, minus Shelly and Nick, who vanished into the hideaway with their bombshells.
10:58Escobar later apologized, acknowledging she had used language she had no right to use.
11:03The controversy resurfaced weeks later, when contestant Sierra Ortega also left the villa,
11:08after old social media posts containing an anti-Asian slur came to light.
11:13They pulled me, and they just said to me, point blank,
11:17there's been some posts that have surfaced on your social media that don't align with our values,
11:22they don't align with the network's values, and we don't have any choice but to remove you from the show.
11:28The fallout extended into season 8, with Vassana Montgomery and Alana Kaiser also getting axed from the show
11:35over alleged use of racial language in the past.
11:38The salon owner from Beaverton, Oregon, who was cut from the dating show ahead of the June 2nd premiere,
11:43says that she is both, quote, embarrassed and disappointed by her words, adding,
11:47I take full responsibility for what I said, and understand why it has hurt and upset people.
11:52Number 13. An explicit premiere.
11:55Naked Attraction.
11:56Channel 4 has never been afraid to push boundaries,
11:59but Naked Attraction still managed to shock viewers when it premiered in July 2016.
12:04Inside each of these six colored pods, we have a naked lady just for you, Josh.
12:12The dating show flipped the usual format on its head, asking contestants to choose potential partners
12:18based on their completely naked bodies, which were gradually revealed from the feet upwards.
12:23The debut attracted around 100 complaints to Ofcom, though the regulator did not launch an investigation.
12:30Would you have sex with me?
12:31I like to get to know someone well before just jumping into bed.
12:34I think it's quite attractive that she's not just a smash and dasher.
12:39Down the line, I might want to have sex with her, but we'll need to see how that one goes.
12:44The controversy extended beyond the nudity itself,
12:47with viewers questioning why male genitalia appeared more frequently on screen than female genitalia.
12:52The program continued despite the backlash, running for 12 series before ending in 2024,
12:58and cementing its place among Britain's most unconventional dating shows.
13:02When asked about the criticism surrounding the superficial nature of the show
13:05contradicting body positivity the series aims for, Olsen notes,
13:10I disagree.
13:10What it proves is that every person is different, and not just facially.
13:14It's empowering to see we're all different.
13:16Number 12.
13:17Taylor Frankie Paul's season is scrapped.
13:20The Bachelorette.
13:21ABC faced an unprecedented franchise crisis when it scrapped Taylor Frankie Paul's season of The Bachelorette
13:27just three days before its scheduled March 22, 2026 premiere.
13:31This is a show that they have been promoting for months now.
13:34This is The Bachelorette, one of their flagship shows.
13:37And I think what particularly made them make this decision, it sounds like,
13:41is this video that just was released by TMZ.
13:44Paul, known for the secret lives of Mormon wives,
13:47came under renewed scrutiny after TMZ released video footage from a 2023 altercation
13:52with her former partner, Dakota Mortensen.
13:54The footage showed a violent confrontation while Paul's young daughter was present and crying nearby.
13:59You can see her throwing these chairs at her then-boyfriend,
14:03and you also then see that her child is sitting there on the couch.
14:07Paul had previously pleaded guilty to an assault charge stemming from the incident,
14:11while the remaining charges were dismissed.
14:13ABC ultimately pulled the completed season rather than air it,
14:17marking an extraordinary turn for the long-running franchise.
14:20Production on Mormon wives was also temporarily put on hold.
14:24In this moment, it's just so heavy.
14:25When your life is broadcasted out there in these headlines,
14:28it's like the end of the world.
14:29That's what it feels like.
14:30I'm not going to lie.
14:31But I will say I've been here before, and I got through it,
14:35and shared my story, my life, so I'm hoping that I can do that again.
14:40Number 11, The Case of Ryan Jenkins.
14:43Megan Wants a Millionaire.
14:44Have you met any Canadians before?
14:46Never.
14:46Well, it's about time, don't you think?
14:48Absolutely.
14:49Can I let you in on a little secret?
14:50Please do.
14:52Ryan whispers in my ear, you're going to love Canadian bacon.
14:57A dating show contestant's alleged murder of his wife brought an abrupt end to Megan Wants a Millionaire in 2009.
15:04Ryan Jenkins, a real estate developer who had appeared on the VH1 series,
15:08became a suspect after the body of his wife, Jasmine Fiore, was found in a suitcase in California.
15:13Jenkins was last identified Wednesday, leaving his water ski boat in Point Roberts, Washington,
15:19and was assumed to have crossed into his native Canada.
15:23He came to this motel 24 hours later.
15:26Authorities charged Jenkins with her murder, and he fled to Canada.
15:30Once the case came to light, VH1 canceled Megan Wants a Millionaire after only three episodes,
15:35and also pulled the third season of I Love Money, another reality series featuring him.
15:40The producers told me that Ryan was like a cancer, and that everything around him had to be cut out.
15:47Every opportunity that I had was over.
15:50Every booking I had was canceled.
15:52Every contract I had was canceled, because nobody wanted to profit off of that situation.
15:58Jenkins was ultimately found dead in a British Columbia motel,
16:01having apparently taken his own life before he could be apprehended.
16:04The case raised questions about how reality TV contestants were screened.
16:08It was devastating, I think, for everyone in the industry when that happened,
16:12because I think a lot of companies had to look at how they were doing business when it came to
16:16these shows,
16:17and how they were finding characters.
16:20Number 10.
16:21Restraining order and stalking.
16:23The Bachelor.
16:24Every single season of The Bachelor is billed to us as the most dramatic yet.
16:28I don't care if you're about to leave.
16:30I'm not going to stop fighting for you.
16:32But in the case of Colton Underwood, that was kind of true.
16:36He just jumped the f***ing fence.
16:39Colton's famous fence jump moment more than lived up to its over-promoted hype,
16:44and his decision to just date winner Cassie Randolph and Leah of proposing was genuinely shocking.
16:50But what came after stunned fans even more?
16:53Grocery store.
16:53Do normal things, yeah.
16:54Grocery store, cleaner.
16:55Go for bike rides, walks on the beach.
16:57Just, you know, your typical.
16:58Typical romantic.
17:00New relationship kind of stuff.
17:02Cassie and Colton broke up a little over a year after they began dating.
17:06In the fall of 2020, she won a temporary restraining order against him.
17:11Cassie alleges that Colton put a tracking device under her vehicle,
17:14sent her threatening texts, and stalked her.
17:17This is incredibly frightening behavior,
17:19and we wish all the best to Cassie leaving this behind.
17:22Number 9.
17:23Rigging a season?
17:25Are you the one?
17:25It's no secret that producer manipulation plays a massive role
17:29in many of our favorite reality television shows.
17:32Come on, we've all watched Unreal.
17:34We know the drill.
17:35Just get your woof-woof to lose it to the big guy.
17:37Yeah, but she hasn't even admitted that she's a virgin yet, so...
17:40Well, then get her to.
17:41But are you the one may have gone too far.
17:43The show follows numerous singletons who have been paired up through an algorithm
17:47and have to figure out who their perfect match is.
17:50Shannon picking Tyler definitely was against the strategy,
17:53and she almost cost us the game.
17:54Like, there's no telling what's gonna happen now
17:56that she didn't stick with the strategy.
17:58The season 5 cast was the first group to not win the game
18:01and take home prize money,
18:03something cast member Gianna Hammer says was purposeful.
18:06Hammer claims that producers pressured some singles
18:09into changing their picks for matches, causing them to lose.
18:13I definitely see why this guy's a perfect match,
18:15and our relationship is growing on so many levels.
18:18Hammer has made numerous other alarming allegations about the show,
18:21including of Assault,
18:23casting a real shadow over this franchise.
18:25Number 8.
18:26Rosalyn Papa.
18:27The Bachelor.
18:28Rosalyn Papa came onto The Bachelor scene like any other contestant.
18:32This is my opportunity to make an impression on Jake,
18:34and I'm gonna have to do that maybe by any means possible.
18:37She was beautiful, fun,
18:39and seemed poised to make a pretty long play for Jake Pavelka's heart.
18:43But in week two, all of that changed.
18:45Rosalyn, you entered into an inappropriate relationship
18:50with one of her.
18:51With one of our staffers.
18:53In the middle of a cocktail party,
18:55then host Chris Harrison kicked Rosalyn out,
18:58accusing her of having a, quote,
19:00inappropriate relationship with a producer.
19:02We feel, because of what's happened,
19:06it's impossible for you to continue on this show.
19:09To this day, Rosalyn says the so-called relationship never happened,
19:13and that the entire fiasco was manufactured for entertainment's sake.
19:17Turned the corner, and I saw, at first I didn't know it was you,
19:20and then I saw it closer up.
19:22And I saw you guys kissing on the stairs.
19:24You are so-
19:25I, like-
19:26It definitely has gone down as one of the craziest moments in Bachelor history.
19:30But if Rosalyn's telling the truth,
19:32that's a pretty messed up way to create good TV.
19:35Number 7.
19:36Shake hits on Vanessa.
19:37Love is Blind.
19:38Throughout season two of Love is Blind,
19:41fans were disappointed in how the relationship between Shake and Deepti played out.
19:45Honestly, like, you're everything that I would want.
19:49Once the couple was out of the pods,
19:50Shake proved himself to be anything but husband material.
19:54We want options.
19:55When you have so many options,
19:56it becomes more and more difficult to choose and commit to one.
20:02That's the thing I worry about with you.
20:04Luckily, Deepti ended up refusing to marry Shake at the end of the season,
20:08but we still hadn't heard the last from him.
20:10I'm choosing myself, and I'm gonna say no.
20:14At the Love is Blind reunion,
20:16Shake continued to double down on his rude ideas about love
20:19and how he wasn't attracted to Deepti.
20:22But he also, for some unknown reason,
20:24thought it would be a good idea to hit on Vanessa Lachey,
20:27one of the hosts of the show.
20:28Listen, every woman here is beautiful.
20:30I think you're all beautiful.
20:31I'm not attracted to all of you.
20:33Unfortunately, the only one I'm attracted to is Vanessa.
20:35And, you know-
20:36Obviously, this choice immediately went south.
20:39We hope we never see Shake on TV again.
20:42It's nature, baby.
20:43We're animals.
20:44We're animals.
20:45No, you treat animals.
20:46We're human beings.
20:47Number 6.
20:48Larissa's Arrests.
20:4990 Day Fiancé.
20:51The entire premise of 90 Day Fiancé is odd,
20:54so it's no surprise that the show has produced
20:56some of the strangest personalities and controversies
20:59in recent reality show memory.
21:00But it's hard to get more volatile than Larissa and Colt.
21:04Larissa!
21:06Why does my flowers?
21:09Why does my flowers?
21:10The two met on the sixth season of the show,
21:13and immediately, it was clear to fans
21:15that the relationship was not going to work.
21:17A lot of viewers thought Colt had a toxic personality,
21:20and Larissa constantly clashed with his family,
21:23including his mother, whom he lived with.
21:25Nobody will make me believe that just because she's Colt's mother,
21:30she's alone to make my life a hell like she does.
21:34How is your life hell?
21:35You have a man paying for you.
21:37Throughout their relationship,
21:39Larissa was arrested three times for domestic violence.
21:42The two appear to have moved on from this time in their lives now,
21:46which is probably best for everyone involved.
21:48Number 5.
21:49Chris Harrison and Rachel Lindsay.
21:51The Bachelor.
21:52This is the last conversation I thought we'd be having.
21:55I didn't sign up to have this conversation.
21:57The Bachelor franchise has always had issues with race.
22:01The show brought on Rachel Lindsay as its first Black lead in 2017,
22:05much too late if you ask us,
22:07but it seems like things have just gotten worse since then.
22:10All that controversy came to a head in 2021,
22:12when old photos of frontrunner Rachel Kirkconnell
22:16at a racist Old South party surfaced
22:18during Black lead Matt James' season,
22:20the show went into damage control mode.
22:23The most disappointing thing for me
22:29was having to explain to you
22:31why what I saw was problematic.
22:34Host Chris Harrison sat for an interview with Rachel Lindsay.
22:37Instead of trying to hold the show accountable,
22:39he ranted about cancel culture and wokeness.
22:42Is it a good look in 2018 or is it not a good look in 2021?
22:46It's not a good look ever.
22:47Not a great look, and the rest of the world agreed.
22:51Harrison, a staple of the franchise, stepped down as host.
22:55Number 4. Miss Great Britain No Longer
22:57Love Island
22:58You know, in the moment, like, and it just happens.
23:02The pageant world is a staple of so many of the reality dating shows
23:06that we know and love.
23:07It makes sense.
23:08A pool of beautiful young people?
23:09Let's get them on a television show.
23:11Zara Holland, a former Miss Great Britain,
23:14starred on the second series of Love Island,
23:17which actually ended up costing her her title.
23:19During her time at the villa,
23:21Zara was physically intimate with another contestant, Alex Bowen.
23:24You slept?
23:26You slept?
23:27Zara?
23:28The decision wasn't that popular amongst her fellow islanders,
23:32but doesn't seem like that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things.
23:35Miss GB, f*** for the first day, are you sure?
23:37Yes.
23:38What a stupid girl.
23:39Miss Great Britain, however, felt differently.
23:42The organization stripped Zara of her title
23:45in one of the most controversial moves in the show's history.
23:48I'm so hurt by the situation
23:50because I was the last person to find out that they decrowned me.
23:54Number 3.
23:55Corinne and Demario
23:56Bachelor in Paradise
23:57Bachelor in Paradise is probably the most beloved of the Bachelor franchise shows,
24:02but the offshoots' fourth season was rocked by a controversy so big,
24:06it almost ended production entirely.
24:08What's going on with Corinne and Demario?
24:10I don't know.
24:11They look like they're enjoying each other's company.
24:14During shooting, someone reported alleged misconduct between contestants Corinne Olympios
24:19and Demario Jackson, who both received villain edits on their respective seasons.
24:24If I ask her to show me her phone,
24:25is it going to coincide with what she said or what you said?
24:29Depends on the dates.
24:31Like, it just depends on the dates.
24:33No, it doesn't.
24:33I don't know.
24:33Corinne later said she couldn't really remember an intimate encounter with Demario
24:37because she accidentally mixed alcohol and prescription medication.
24:41The two have since smoothed things over,
24:43and an internal investigation found that no misconduct occurred.
24:47But both contestants have spoken about how the experience horribly affected their lives
24:51in its aftermath.
24:53Number 2.
24:54The Treatment of Miriam Rivera
24:55There's Something About Miriam
24:57This entry could also be called
24:59The Entirety of What Happened with There's Something About Miriam.
25:02This short-lived reality dating show followed six single men
25:05as they tried to win the heart of model Miriam Rivera.
25:09At the end of the show, Tom Rook ended up winning.
25:11But the show had one more twist,
25:13if you can even put what happens next into such glib terms.
25:17The series had Miriam reveal to Tom and the rest of the contestants
25:21that she was a transgender woman.
25:23I'm not a woman.
25:25I was born as a man.
25:28The men ended up suing the show,
25:30alleging sexual assault and personal injury, among other things.
25:34The entire setup wasn't fair to anyone involved,
25:36and put forth really negative stereotypes and perceptions of the transgender community.
25:42Number 1.
25:43The Dating Game Killer
25:44The Dating Game
25:45Get ready, folks.
25:46This one's a doozy.
25:48If you're a true crime fan,
25:50you've probably heard of Rodney Alcala,
25:52the infamous dating game killer.
25:54And what do you look like?
25:57I'm called the banana,
25:59and I look really good.
26:02If you come to The Dating Game through reality TV and don't recognize this name,
26:07allow us to explain.
26:08Alcala was a serial killer who murdered multiple people,
26:12mostly women, in the 1970s.
26:14Chris was very trusting.
26:16So,
26:18you know, that was her downfall.
26:20During that time period,
26:22he also appeared on an episode of The Dating Game.
26:24Can you imagine?
26:25Not only did Alcala go on the show,
26:27he actually won.
26:29Who gets the dates?
26:30Well, I like bananas,
26:32so I'll take one.
26:33Even though Alcala was officially dubbed the winner,
26:36the bachelorette in question,
26:38Cheryl Bradshaw,
26:38opted not to go out with him.
26:41Bradshaw called Alcala creepy.
26:43That's what we call good instincts.
