David Cameron laughed off being hit by an egg while campaigning.
The Conservative leader was struck by the missile as he left after answering students questions at Cornwall College in Saltash.
An egg was thrown by a student inside the building as Mr Cameron was leaving.
After being followed by a giant chicken on Tuesday Mr Cameron joked, "Now I know which came first - the chicken not the egg."
Playing down the incident he said it was the first of the campaign.
A student was arrested but released when it was established he had no further ammunition with him, a Tory aide said.
The egg glanced off Mr Cameron's shoulder splattering on a nearby police officer, although the yolk also stained his white shirt.
