A language powerhouse with the stuff of greatness - that's how critics are raving at Russian writer Mikhail Shishkin. His novel Maiden Hair is a key work of contemporary Russian literature. He and his translator, Andreas Tretner, recently won the International Literature Award, given out by the Haus der Kulturen der Welt.
