U.S. President Barack Obama paid a surprise visit to a local Food Bank in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday (November 23) to distribute food to needy families.
The President was joined by his wife Michelle, daughters Mali, Sash and his mother-in-law Mrs. Robinson who all stood behind a long table distributing produce ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
People formed a long line at the Capital Area food bank waiting their turn to receive food and greetings from the President.
The White House donated two dressed turkeys as well as chocolate candy.
The food bank distributes about 30 million pounds of food per year, according to the White House.
