Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper arrives at the Élysée Presidential Palace in Paris on Thursday.
He's meeting with newly inaugurated French President François Hollande to talk about the world economy, ahead of a G20 meeting in Mexico later this month.
After the meeting, Hollande spoke with reporters in the palace courtyard.
(SOUNDBITE) (French) FRENCH PRESIDENT FRANCOIS HOLLANDE SAYING:
"First we talked about relations between Canada and France, we have common interests both on economic and cultural matters and we talked about the situation of the world economy."
Harper is in Paris after visiting Britain, where he participated in the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
