Typhoon Guchol, now a tropical depression, passed over Japan on Tuesday(June 19) and early Wednesday(June 20) morning causing damage across the country and leaving over 60 injured and one dead.
Guchol made landfall on Tuesday as it cancelled flights and trains across the country and wreaked havoc with transportation systems.
Japanese media reported that the storm killed one 53-year-old in addition to over 60 other injuries across the country.
The storm also led to evacuations of over 15,000 people including in areas affected by last year's earthquake where the ground had sunk.
Japan is expected to be hit again on Friday(June 22) by Typhoon Talim although it will likely be downgraded to a tropical storm by then.
