Guatamala's capital is one of the world's most violent cities, where even ice cream shops need armed guards. But an urban renewal project has brought life back to a part of the city, previously plagued by crime and urban decay, in the form of street performers, cafes and art galleries. Al Jazeera's David Mercer reports from Guatemala City.
