Relentless rainfall since Friday (August 17) triggered floods in North Korea, destroying more than 240 houses and submerging some 2,200 hectares of farmland, according to Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
KCNA said the floods affected Pyongyang, as well as the northern and southern Hwanghae and Kangwon provinces, where rainfall exceeded 200 millimetres.
Over 660 people were displaced.
State media said the massive flooding from late June to late July left 169 people dead, 144 injured and 400 missing.
