Ashraf al-Moqdad, a member of the Syrian opposition, has described the current situation across Syria as "desperate".
"At the moment the situation is so desperate in all cities in Syria and especially Homs, the capital of the revolution," Moqdad told Al Jazeera from Istanbul, Turkey's largest city.
"The only thing [that] could remove this plight on the Syrian people is international intervention, that is what we need [and] are crying out for."
