On Saturday South Africa's Oscar Pistorious will finally be on his way to making Olympic history by running in the 400-metre dash.
After years of legal action and a lifetime of training, Pistorious was able to fight a 2008 ruling that banned the amputee from competing in the games.
To get the ban overturned Pistorious had to prove the blades he runs on didn't provide him any advantage over his able-bodied competitors.
Al Jazeera's Andy Richardson repors from Olympic Park, where he spoke to Pistorious himself ahead of Saturday's race.
