00:00And through the span of DC Universe Wave 16, we've progressively gone through each figures that make up the line
00:06as a whole.
00:07We've also taken our pieces that make up Bane, and we've quickly, well not quickly, I've done all these reviews
00:14together,
00:14but as you've been watching it, we've been progressively putting together the pieces that make up Bane.
00:19Now that he is done today's toy spot, we are now going to be looking at the completed Bane,
00:25and I'm going to be giving you my thoughts on the line as a whole.
00:54So now we've got Bane complete, complete.
00:58We've got Bane now put together.
01:03If we hark back, back to the very beginning, in some of my earlier videos,
01:10ooh, as painful as they are to watch, for those that actually watched my review of the DC Superheroes Bane,
01:19one thing I said during that video is why, oh I wish, I kind of prayed, I have the fingers
01:27crossed,
01:27I said I wish that they would actually make a Collect and Connect Bane,
01:33or I wish they would make a more, because there was no such thing back then,
01:36but they would make a better articulated Bane, or I wish they would make a better Bane.
01:42And I think I commented too that they should make a Doomsday.
01:45He hasn't happened yet, but, finally, we got ourselves a DC Universe Bane.
01:53It was well worth the wait, I've got to say, this Bane is incredible.
01:57I really wish I had my DC Superheroes Bane with me, I've packed him away somewhere,
02:02but I wish I could have compared the two together, because certainly it is night and day.
02:06The one biggest problem with the Bane from the DC Superheroes was, first of all,
02:11that he had a pre-sculpted crouch.
02:14His legs were permanently kind of bent.
02:17I'm going to kind of illustrate.
02:18They kind of look like that.
02:21And it kind of made the figure, first of all, shorter than what he should have been.
02:25And for poses and stuff like that,
02:28made him pretty much next to impossible to do anything with.
02:31This Bane certainly does not have that issue at all.
02:37He's articulated like any other Collect and Connect and any other DC Universe figure.
02:43The detailing is incredible on him.
02:46I have to commend Mattel for giving us a fully masked Bane.
02:52If you've followed Bane like I have,
02:54throughout the many incarnations of Bane,
02:58while we have gotten masked Banes,
03:00I mean, certainly in the Justice League,
03:03the Batman animated series,
03:06Bane continuity,
03:08Bane had an open mouth.
03:10Which was alright,
03:11but I'm glad when they decided to give us a Collect and Connect Bane,
03:15that they went right back to square one.
03:18They went right back to the drawing board
03:19and gave us the way Bane originally looked.
03:22Very menacing,
03:24with the full white and black mask.
03:28It is awesome.
03:32He's got himself the clear rubbery tube
03:34that supplies his body with the venom.
03:37He's also got himself the little control device down below here.
03:42Some of the points that I have to mention too,
03:45that I really like,
03:46I like the fact that both his gloves and his boots,
03:48I know I've said his boots already,
03:49but I like the fact that his boots are shiny,
03:51that kind of shiny black,
03:53kind of gives him that,
03:54that,
03:56that real kind of,
03:57well,
03:58it does kind of make it look like a real,
03:59like real boots.
04:00It's not like it's just this matte coloring.
04:02I also like the fact that he's got the rubbery straps,
04:06that it's not just a piece of molded plastic to the,
04:08the upper torso,
04:10but a very solid figure,
04:12a very solid collect and connect figure.
04:14I can already tell you,
04:17I already have a soft spot for Bane,
04:19but this Bane is right at the top of the list
04:22for my favorite collect and connect pieces,
04:24or collect and connect figures that have been released
04:26through this entire series of DC Universe.
04:32And in the way of Bane's articulation,
04:35Bane's got the ball-jointed head,
04:38he's got the pin and socket joint shoulders,
04:41he's got the swivel in the bicep,
04:43you've got a single bend in the elbow,
04:46you've got rotation in the hands.
04:48I also like the fact that his hands are clenched closed.
04:53To me,
04:53that only adds to the,
04:55the sheer might and menacing posterior,
05:00I'm just adding stuff here,
05:02of Bane.
05:03It just definitely makes the figure look much more menacing.
05:07He has a swivel in the bicep,
05:08or the swivel in the waist,
05:11he's got a mid-torso bend,
05:13he's got his legs that bend out,
05:15back and forth,
05:16a rotation in the thigh,
05:18a bend at the knee,
05:20a rotation in the boot,
05:22and a bend at the foot.
05:26But there you have Bane.
05:30Now unfortunately,
05:31I don't have my DC,
05:33my DC encyclopedia.
05:34I know the last little while,
05:35when I've been doing collect and connect figures,
05:38I've usually gone back and read the,
05:39the biography on the character.
05:41Unfortunately,
05:42I have to kind of leave it off of the,
05:43the review of Bane here,
05:44because,
05:45now that I've moved,
05:46I have no idea where I've got some of that stuff.
05:48I'm going to have to go through and,
05:49and see if I can,
05:50dig out those books.
05:53But,
05:54definitely,
05:55I love this Bane.
05:56This Bane,
05:57not only,
05:59let's first of all give him a rating.
06:01This Bane,
06:01I'm going to give,
06:02got to do it,
06:03giving him a 10.
06:04This Bane gets a solid 10.
06:06He doesn't have a lot going for him.
06:08He's very basic in design.
06:10But everything that he does,
06:12he does really,
06:13really well.
06:14So Bane gets a 10.
06:15Also,
06:17I'm officially adding Bane,
06:19to the review spot,
06:20Hall of Fame.
06:22I have to do it.
06:23I have to do it.
06:24I knew the moment that they would release this guy,
06:27he was going to make the Hall of Fame.
06:29And he does.
06:31So right after this review,
06:32I'm actually going to add this guy,
06:33down below.
06:35Make it official,
06:36Hall of Fame.
06:37So there you go.
06:38There's Bane out of the way.
06:40Fantastic figure.
06:41Well worth getting the set,
06:43just to put this guy together.
06:45So now that we've done that,
06:47I want to go through,
06:48and I just want to talk about the line as a whole.
06:49This was a very solid,
06:51solid wave.
06:52Wave 16.
06:53For any Batman fan,
06:55especially this guy right here,
06:56this was a wave to definitely pick up.
06:59My favorite figures,
07:01of course,
07:01aside from Bane here,
07:03my favorite figures from this line,
07:05I'll actually do these in order here.
07:06The first figure,
07:08the first figure I have to say,
07:09as a favorite of mine in this wave,
07:14was this guy right here.
07:17The Robin with,
07:19for my way of thinking,
07:21like the later 70s, 80s style head.
07:26I called him Dick Grayson.
07:27Of course,
07:28there was the other Robin,
07:29which I'm sure I'll still get flack for.
07:31I know he's not Jason Todd,
07:34but he's definitely,
07:36I definitely prefer this Robin over the other one,
07:39but I'm glad to have gotten both Robins.
07:42So,
07:42by the way,
07:43you can also see the considerable height difference between the two,
07:46which I really,
07:47really like as well.
07:48But Robin is definitely,
07:50for me,
07:50the must-have figure of this wave.
07:52The next in line,
07:54it's got to be this guy right here,
07:56Riddler.
07:58Yes,
07:59maybe not the best body mold.
08:01It could have gone something a little thinner.
08:03But I'm going to have to say,
08:04Riddler is definitely the second best figure of this wave.
08:09The next one,
08:10if I reach out of camera here,
08:13is the Nightfall,
08:16I guess more so the Night Quest,
08:18Night End,
08:20Azrael Batman.
08:23You know what?
08:24I'll just have to hold him.
08:26These three figures for me,
08:28made this line.
08:31The Jonah Hex was good.
08:33Maybe not being a Jonah Hex fan as much,
08:36I don't know if I would necessarily put him as high up there.
08:39The Creeper was also good.
08:41I would say if I had to do the fourth,
08:43I probably would throw Creeper there.
08:45Near the bottom of the list,
08:46I would say,
08:47is this guy here,
08:48Mercury.
08:49For no other reason than the fact,
08:51I just don't follow Metal Man at all.
08:53I don't know very much about the character.
08:55But he is still a really good figure.
08:58And I'm not going to take anything away from him.
09:01Mercury is a nice, nice figure.
09:03He's definitely not part of my top three, though.
09:06Again, the top three,
09:07got to go Robin,
09:08Riddler,
09:09and finally Asriel Batman.
09:10So there you go, guys.
