A massive political fight has broken out between Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi over devolving of powers to Panchayats in the valley. While Omar has accused coalition partners for holding him back from devolving power to Panchayats, Rahul has contradicted Omar's stand by supporting the idea of giving powers to them. After meeting Rahul in New Delhi on Thursday (Sep 27), Sarpanches have demanded the issuance of gun licences for their defence.
